This is the original version that was recorded on the uk release of the back room. Version 2 produced by jack knife lee was the version released on the american release of the back room and was also a rerelease in the uk.

The breakdowns @ 1:45 and 2:52 are big differences... but this isn't on the American version of the album... maybe it's on the one released overseas?

It wouldn't be surprising if they released The Back Room a little bit later in the US, since they were a small indie band at that time. Possibly after the Bullets single was released

Well.. The sound is different. If I'm not mistaken, they rerecorded Bullets to the single-release, which resulted in version 2. The sound is a little thicker and heavier in the second version and differs a bit in the lyrics in the end. Version 1 seems to be a little bit repeatable as the chorus goes on the same all the time.

the singer sounds like joy division but thats it they are a completely differnt band their music has faster tempo and have a differnt sound to it.

its a great band and stop comparing them to joy division.
