This would be great to compliment my motorcycles, not take their place. These would be nice in icey or wet conditions and just fun in general. While it may not be as exciting as most motorcycles, it sure as heck beats the heck out of any car.
I look at vehicles like this: motorcycle pros- way faster, better MPG, more fun. cons- dangerous as all hell and extremely impractical. sportscar pros- can be pretty fast, faster than bikes around corners due to increased grip and way easier to control at the limit (drifting) and safe. cons-slower than a bike and less exciting overall.
this new TRIKE is slower than a bike but no more practical. the only safety feature I see is it would be hard to drop. get hit by a car and your still fucked

It is hard to decide the Can-Am Spyder cost $15,000 to $17.000 and the T-Rex maybe three times more but both are very cool looking, the TRex need a windshield.

listen ive had 3 american cars that have given me not trouble at all. First truck i had was a 92 chevy silverado 5speed with the 350, 250,000 miles and the only things that had been replace was the clutch and the alternator, and of course shocks and brake pads basic maintenence stuff. I used to want a 10" wide streamroller of a tire on every motorcycle.
Get on one and you'll realize why that won't work. You wouldn't be able to turn--you'd be trying to lift one side up and ride the bike on the opposite corner.
The rounder shape helps you get more tread while being able to roll side to side, but you can still only go so wide.

I saw one that they claim can hit 200 on the dash and I actually think it is alright but it is kinda biting off the T-Rex alot. I personally feel if you want to ride something thats a lil different then thats kool, I'd probably rather have a crotch rocket myself tho, L's Up.
has anyone else seen the conversion kits for snowmobiles? those kits were created before the spyder and the spyder is simply a knockoff of someone else's theory. the spyder looks just like a ski-doo. if i got the money for that ill just spend the 9,000 for a conversion kit on my Thundercat 900 or ZR700. it would still be faster (theoretically) and more badass especially with a 900cc 2 stroke triple growling.

spyders? I am thnking of buying one next summer but I don't have enough information on them to make up mind yet. I don't trust everthing the dealers tell me about them. Of course they will only tell me the goods things. Non of the bad thing about them.

listen ive had 3 american cars that have given me not trouble at all. First truck i had was a 92 chevy silverado 5speed with the 350, 250,000 miles and the only things that had been replace was the clutch and the alternator, and of course shocks and brake pads basic maintenence stuff. Only reason i got rid of it was a rollover, my bro decided to hit a snow drift at 60... can am is a canadian company that has been making motorcycles and atvs for years... its gonna be reliable

what the &^%& ? cant see any reason why i sholud buy one... space like car - no traffic advantage, doesnt protect from weather! and the power to weight ratio is lower becouse of 3 wheels, it gives more grip but u cant lean!! whats the fun ???

Ive always loved sleds(snowmobiles), this just takes it to the streets. For those who are older and find it difficult to ride a motorcycle this is a great solution.

I used to want a 10" wide streamroller of a tire on every motorcycle.
Get on one and you'll realize why that won't work. You wouldn't be able to turn--you'd be trying to lift one side up and ride the bike on the opposite corner.
The rounder shape helps you get more tread while being able to roll side to side, but you can still only go so wide.

Well once you get that illiteracy taken care of you should try riding a bike and you'd quickly see what the problem is.
You just can't go that much bigger, even with a rounded shape, or your bike would be impossible to turn.
A big ghetto wheel and no-pro tire would make it ride like crap and fight every turn.

I saw one that they claim can hit 200 on the dash and I actually think it is alright but it is kinda biting off the T-Rex alot. I personally feel if you want to ride something thats a lil different then thats kool, I'd probably rather have a crotch rocket myself tho, L's Up.

has anyone else seen the conversion kits for snowmobiles? those kits were created before the spyder and the spyder is simply a knockoff of someone else's theory. the spyder looks just like a ski-doo. if i got the money for that ill just spend the 9,000 for a conversion kit on my Thundercat 900 or ZR700. it would still be faster (theoretically) and more badass especially with a 900cc 2 stroke triple growling.

Yeah, don't get it. I feel way safer on a motorcycle than a quad in the desert, it's way more controllable, in my opinion. I can't imagine that this thing is more controllable than a streetbike.

actually it handles better than a street bike. i tried it out at the dealer. the 3 wheels makes it way safer in the rain, and safer in the turns, and it is FAST! and its unique. i dont know anyone personally right now that rides one. im getting one soon.
