  • defender defender defender brossbox

  • Where did you drive?

I´m coming from Germany, and here is no "special" offroad track.

  • wooooooooow i love this car (defender)

  • Still nothing better!

  • I've got an 88inch series landy, I could count the number of times i've had to pull hiluxes and other long wheel base trucks off of humps because they got bellied following me through a track... swb 4 lyfe....

  • Well, obviously if you increase the wheelbase of a car from something like 90 inches to 110 inches as it is with the Defender 90 and 110, then the one with the longer wheelbase is going to get stuck because a sharp hill is more likely to end up between the wheels with the wheels having very little grip :>

  • The 90's shorter wheelbase helps it get over those smaller mounds. Although a good driver makes all the difference off-road. Great vid and some nice Landys!!

  • Thats my 90 about 2 years ago, a 200tdi. Then it was completely standard except for slightly larger AT tyres and a snorkel. Now it's on a galvanized chassis with a VNT turbo, and a different colour among other things.

  • that's a tough route to combine v8 torque and open diffs on. (110 anyway).. Nice vid!

  • Is that Jonathan Wross behind the camera? :D

  • good apart from the gimp talking

  • also if the 90 is better vehicle then why do the mounatin rescue use 110s

  • more room to store there gear????

  • well...yes but its also because its great off road. if the guy had driven the 110 right it would have blitz it

  • 90's are always going to be better, axles are closer together so you don't get stuck like a seesaw on the gradients, 110's are still awesome and better for mountain rescue as they have more space for equipment, passengers and supplies.

  • stretchers as far as i'm aware

  • longer whel base on 110. any we we had 2 110s and they were very capable of doing what the 90 does in this vid.. driver error

  • i want to see a series 88 do this do you reckon it would make it

  • Yes!

  • nice drive in the 90!!! is she standard, apart from the snorkel! nice vid thanks !

  • @spankybrandonf

Agreed ....... tyres make the biggest difference of all

  • defender the best

  • @TheMrmrjordan SAMURAI RULES !!!

  • God drives a 90! ; -)

  • and also his prob is tires, i couldnt tell but it sure looked like his werent the best tires

  • Both the 110 and 90 are equally good off road, the problem there was the 110 driver doesnt know his vehicle well enough yet, plus he needs to be more gentle, liste to how he revs it compared to the 90.

  • The 110 is just to long. Always gets stuck on top. I drive a 90 -:)

  • I also prefer the 90, but fact remains, the 90 was driven by a better driver:)

  • The 110 with the windows in the back does look better though! ;)

  • The shorter wheel base increases the ramp over angle, which was requied here, so was an advantage. However, momentum wouldhave got him through - just a little more welly...

  • He seems to give it a lot of welly... At the wrong times. Thats whats getting him stuck, or digging him in further. I think he just needs to ease off.

  • wat engine is in the 90??!

  • Sounds like a TD5 to me

  • Where do you do this?

  • Should've gone to specsavers.

  • the defender 90's are the best =P

  • 110 needs to get some more aggressive tyres and a bit less wheel spinning and it'd be through no probs.

  • And a shorter wheel base.

  • 110 arnt any good for most off roading there simply too damn long where as a 90 is the perfect beast for getting up and over then through the various obstacles on most off roading circuts

  • On the contrary, I own a 110 and take it off-roading often and never really have any problems except for the turning circle.

  • Simple physics I'm afraid... longer wheelbase makes for easy high centering in those conditions. No amount of skill can prevent certain situations.

  • think he wants to suck Randy off, the 110 absolutely sucks at stuff like that

  • Very nice, but the 110 driver hasnt got too much experience with driving it. The driver in the 90 is farily better, but i think he's gotten an Diff Air-lock.

  • superb driving in the 90 i go to woodlands aswell in my series 3 or i used to untill the chassis rotted lol

  • Good stuff, just wondering is your front grill newer than the 90 itself?

  • fair bit of skill involved there

  • The 90 is designed for that sort of offroading. 110 is designed for transporting large numbers of people / large amounts of kit and is therefore not as agile (still great in a "normal" offroad situation tho!

  • that 90 driver was cool well done my son !!!!

  • great effort!!! is that a standard 90??

    great driving!!

  • any1..where can i get big powerfull spot lights from for a defender 90? im after 4 on a top mounted bar :D

  • pair o nobs in the 110,

    90 does well,

  • sorry i can not good englisch- defender is a greatest suv ,i have a 90Lándy ( 1974 ) its my live..i love defender ..see(sinop-offroad-birol)

  • Great video! I'm about to buy myself a 90!

  • Well done !

  • big up the 90 .. they do just rule :D

  • My two year old little boys is very impressed with this, and kept saying 'wow!!!'. Thanks for posting!

  • Nice going dude! looking forward to seeing your next vid.

  • the 110s just dont like the crests of hills do they, 90 driver makes it look easy'er than it is though.

  • Thankyou, nice to hear. This was the first off road test after I finished my project 90 as seen in the vid. And well, I was pleased to say the least. Going back to Woodlands this sunday so will hopefully get another video up early next week.

  • is this the woodlands nr brands hatch?

  • sure is!
