i love death metal and i cant stand rap either. i absolutely hate any type of gangsta rap. theres actually some rap that i dont mind, such as stuff thats more poetic, diverse, more emotional, and that doesnt use all that synthesized autotoned crap. i also like rap that mixes together with rock and metal, or even blues and funk. i just hate most rap because a lot of it is some really crappy sounding, layered, autotoned crap that doesnt have any meaning, and i love rock and metal, too.

@Beast6Of6Bass6 There's Opeth and Cynic which don't use Harsh Vocals much, and Death Metal isn't really all about Gory Lyrics, there are many bands that don't have those lyrical themes. Sure, Brutal Death Metal and Slam Death Metal may talk about that, but what about Melodic Death Metal and regular Death Metal?
They still use harsh vocals. Melo-death uses harsh vocals, but it's in the form of highs instead of growls, such as wintersun. Regular death metal almos always uses harsh vocals. If it is what defines of the genre, than the band must fir that discription to be that type of band.

Also, that doesn't change the fact that there are still some Christian Black Metal bands out there.
For it to be black metal, it cannot be pro-christian. That much is a fact, and I was just trying to tell you that it has to be one of the tow for it to be death metal, or both.

I like death metal/deathcore, which is admittidly (however it is spelled) close to grindcore. However, it doesn't seem like grindcore bands are in it for music anymore, I respect origional grindcore like ND but stuff now is just the look and random noise.

Thank god! I found someone who realizes how foolish and stupid rap music is. It praises men who do drugs, speak Ebonics, and use and abuse women. i love death metal and i cant stand rap either. i absolutely hate any type of gangsta rap. theres actually some rap that i dont mind, such as stuff thats more poetic, diverse, more emotional, and that doesnt use all that synthesized autotoned crap. i also like rap that mixes together with rock and metal, or even blues and funk. i just hate most rap because a lot of it is some really crappy sounding, layered, autotoned crap that doesnt have any meaning, and i love rock and metal, too.

Black metal followes the Anti-religon theme, even if it's not satanic, because Black metal was created by Venom, who, in public, have stated they are against religon and that even their drummer was considered satanic, also heres an analogy. I see you like death, death used harsh vocals and gory lyrics in their songs, if a band claimed to be death metal, but didn't use harsh vocals or gory lyrics, would you consider it death metal?

Sure, Brutal Death Metal and Slam Death Metal may talk about that, but what about Melodic Death Metal and regular Death Metal?

They still use harsh vocals. Melo-death uses harsh vocals, but it's in the form of highs instead of growls, such as wintersun. Regular death metal almos always uses harsh vocals. If it is what defines of the genre, than the band must fir that discription to be that type of band.

Also, that doesn't change the fact that there are still some Christian Black Metal bands out there.

Rap music doesn't express anything other than how much money they "earn" or whatever self-centered bullshit they have to spit that no one cares about. Anyone can talk into a microphone with Autotune and a cheap beat from Fruity Loops, but it takes real talent to sit down with a guitar and a legit idea to make a meaningful piece of art that actually means something. Some rap is artistic and highly expressive. My favorite rapper, Lupe Fiasco, has rapped about meaningful thing such as the crisis in Africa caused by the diamond trade. All musical genres have their black sheep (no pun intended) who make stupid music. Though 21st century rap has many.

@systematicprimitive Not all rap sucks, mostly old school rap is good, T-Pain sucks, 50 Cent sucks, and Little Wayne sucks, Public Enemy and Run DMC kicks ass, it also takes skill to think of lyrics and sing them out in a 8-16 beat metronome and rapping out the words that fast, not talking about how you can get laid by sagging your pants and wearing a bandanna and smacking a woman with short hair (Chris Brown referance ftw?) and expect people to not talk shit about it.
