  • well its suppose to be DUT DUT DUT DUT, and shorten the T.

  • somebody needs to fix that tenor tuning.. i had to stop listening when they played drum 4

  • huhu. duht.

  • bass drums need to keep their forearms parrallel with the ground.

  • i'm in eighth grade so i can't be in marching band yet. soooooooo why do I see snare drummers using traditional grip. I just do't get it. some please explain.

  • @PoohStickProductions

The drumline I'm in uses traditional too.

It's mostly for the look, honestly.

    It looks sweet as fuck.

But the snareline usually sounds dirty when they're playing something sophisticated or even playing an open roll. I prefer match, but traditional grip looks sweet.

It usually depends on what the center snare wants everyone to use.

  • Gotta love playing eights, is this cypress creek florida?

  • NIIICE :) check mine out if ya dont mind :)

  • All of the sudden everybody is an expert on how to instruct drumlines

  • zonnnnnnesss

  • I see two things that need work throughout the the line, stick height with the tenors when the tempo picks up needs work.....outside tenor uses more vertical, where the inside tenor uses more arm and very little wrist( which defeats the purpose of the warmup. The basses need to focus and quit looking at the drums, look towards your snare captain, or to the drum major, at least look in the same direction. Good variations of eight though, may want to add dynamic changes though. Just trying to hel

  • @FalamsProductions well said :D

  • @xXcloudresXx thank you :)

  • @FalamsProductions basses also need to be serious when warming up, they seem really lazy with technique(feet and hands). never got a good look at the snares, but i can say from a percussionist view, the left hand is definitely the weak point.

  • I never knew Evans sounded good on Pearls x]

  • @MrFlyDrums Evans heads sound good on anything.

  • that one guy bass drummer is staring at that girls ass

  • So much wrist in the tenors.

  • hot girls lol .... damn camera the tenor sticks lok rubbery

  • its not da da da...its a loud DUT DUT DUT

  • That guy on snare is so talllll lol

  • Yep, thats 8's

  • there ya have it.....3 plus minutes of EIGHT ON A HAND.. you would expect it would get cleaner after a few thousand reps....WRONG!!!!

  • horrible duts. hot bassline.

  • is that pro-marck cookie doe sticks

  • dutting needs work, stick heights are TERRIBLE. i see one guy doing 6 inches one doing 3 and another doing 9! wtf?

  • Everybody on this line has graduated. No need to make more suggestions :)

  • The DUTS are so weak! it sounds like duh duh duh duh. Show some balls. And Hit the drum too. You guys look like little girls

  • wait a min ... my HS drumline didnt have good looking girls like that :(

  • that's not how we do that exercise lol

  • It's just du not dut try saying dut outloud and really pronouce the T it don't work

  • line needs a lot of work.... going through the motions, but not understanding tap/accent and elemental relationship.... instructors are inexperienced and amatuer.

  • We use those same exact tenors, tenor heads, tenor covers, and tenor sticks.

  • YAY TENOR'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • um sound like yall are say duh its dut

  • I play for a high school drum line, and it just realized how stupid these warm ups are. How would this get someone warmed up? lol.

  • those duhts sound like they were reversed using an audio editor

  • hey yalls bouncing back and forth needs to stop u willl look a lot more professional

  • Girls on the bassline are hot, we've got one and she's not too bad.

  • your dutting needs to be more crisp and enthusiastic...not like your being forced to do it while running off an hour of sleep

  • Yay drumline. We just finished our April SOTS drumline camp today. Can't wait for this fall to get here.

  • I agree with dirkslater

  • I'm starting to thing we're the only drumline in the world that uses matched grip

  • too dirty bad attacks dut together

  • man, those bass heads are niiccee.

  • BD 8's?

  • oh and yeah duts little funky, i agree with tenors00, staccato

  • well ur 2 & 3 basses are hot

  • subdivision guys. i don't mean to be a asshole like some ppl but u half to half to have a universial interpretation of an initial downbeat. if u dut like that u loose the beat and slowing u down on an warm-up or in a show but other than that u guys aren't that bad and ur top basses hot and theyplay hella go dude. What circuit are u guys??? cause im eastern district TOB ch.12.........but no disrespect or nothin like that man

  • doi, dah, dud, duh, duht, duHHH, duHHHH, doiihhhAA

  • and those duts come on im not gonna repeat what tenors00 said

  • why are the tenors using the aluminum mallets for warm up wtf? noobs

  • its not duuuut duuuut. It's supposed to be staccato. Don't draw it out.

  • rofl we say "Dah dah dah dah" in the middle too :D

  • why two gocks?

  • why the heck not?

  • @AL154478

i guess its supposed to make it an easier playing zone for the tenor players, 'cause im assuming only 1 spock drum has a smaller/more difficult playing zone.

sorry if im not clear, idk how to really explain it.

  • @jlbuitureida

huh?, easier playing zone? i dont think so, i think it was to have the 8 inch (i think) drum that the small tenors have, and still have the 10-14 inch (not sure of exact size) drums that the large tenors have

  • cy creek of houston?

  • duts. not duhh

  • 2 bass players! no fair!

  • drums 3 and 4 on the tenors are tuned to close together

  • they say duh duh duh duh all girly and not meaningful

  • i agree

  • @dirkslater yeah it short be short and precise dut's,

  • @dirkslater How the hell do you make the syllable "duh" meaningful?

  • @principalbass By saying with discipline.

  • lol, im sorry u guys dut really weird...

  • but i do love the drums and the heads..

  • drum 4 too high, or others too low

  • Do the cases affect the sound of the drum at all?

  • hahahahahaha :57

  • why do the snares have their stick bags ticked in their case?

  • gahh

i wish we had money in our program like you guys do

we bought new peral full-sized tenors, pritti nice, ya know?

but on the other side.. our snares are like 11 years old lol

  • sexi, girls on the bass line

  • for shuree.

  • @mindphr33k : nothing sexy about high school students.... get help you pedofile!

  • @mindphr33k same at my school! all hot girls on bass

  • Maybe its just me but I really dislike it when front ensemble do warp ups with battery. They should be seperate when it comes to warming up.

  • thank god!

    i completely agree

  • in my skool were seperate

  • In my school we usually were seperate, but during the summer rehearsals we warmed up and practiced show music together occaisonally.

  • hahaha, so enthusiastic!!

  • you shouldn't be able to see the stick stopping in the middle of your stroke.

and shorten your duts, duts are supposed help you atay on time and have better attacks with the rest of the drumline.

  • what are you guys 5A ? I wonder if you guys were at state this year on nov 4th 2008

  • alright i'll look out for em, thanks.

also, watch for any new TWHS vids that should be coming up soon

  • CCHS drumline is so much better this year,

its like night and day from last year

  • wow thanks. idk who this is but i'm on the quads this year and its nice to know that people have noticed that we have turned it around.

  • Doot Dut Doot Dut Do da Do data.

    I miss HS band.

  • make the snares equal in height!

  • haha u guys need to dut shorter. u guys are saying like duuut duut duuut.

  • what kind of dut is that at 1:00 ?

  • I agree, top basses are HOTT

  • Bass line is sick. 20x better than our bass line.

  • i think for marching band you get your heel off the ground; in DCI its more of a knee bend.

    its bands choice i guess...

  • we have the best band at cypress!!!! damn we kick ass

  • higher stick hights, and tenors need a difrent split part, for 8 on a hand it should be 1x8,2x8 1,3,1,3,2,4,2,4 then spock 1,3,s,1,3,s,2,4,s,2,4 then once you do that you go back to 1x8 and 2x8

  • Plus you can't practice your drum and practice moving your feet in the stands. It's to help them get ready for the marching.

  • nice bass line (pretty hot must admit) but yo what's up with the bouncing marking time? just sayin

  • i dont get why drumlines warm up during half time before they go on the field. i mean, u just played through cadences and standtunes before halftime...why do u still need to warmup????? my drumline doesnt warmup before we do our show. we run through the show music. plus, skipping the warmups gives us more time to work on the show music before we get on the field.

  • I doubt anyone goes too hardcore on cadences. Thus their muscles probably aren't as stretched out as they need to be.

  • ...theres nobody in the crowd, i'm sure their warming up for practice.

  • well. many reasons, my drumline always warmed up with like 8 minutes till halftime. settings change with high school games, such as going on the field times, and show stuff, so it helps you work out stuff

  • You go hot chicks one bass one and two....Nice sound!!!!!!

  • pretty nice bass line...show more energy!!!

  • Nice tuned Bass line!!

  • Nice tuned Bass line!!

  • Warmups are about...well, warming up. They don't need to be difficult. Ever hear of basic 8's?

  • Comment removed

  • It says you don't waste time with long warmups that you don't really need. Phantom Regiment plays about the most basic, yet effective double beat exercise there is. Nobody needs to be ramming crazy beats to warm up. It's cool sometimes, but you don't need it.

  • it says learn to spell

  • excuse me but if im not mistaken warming up means stretching your muscles so that you dont strain something, ya know get loose, and excuse me but your middle school drumline aint shit compared to our drumline if you ever see one of our shows you would faint, if you dont like then dont watch the fucking video fuckin dumbass

  • i seen ur line. tenors suck. i gotta give u credit tho, that bass line is awesome. hey man, no hard feelings bro, its all good

  • check out our line this year. you'd flip shit. our third movement in the show has a killer drumbreak...hopefully it'll be up soon. give feedback on some newer vids. thanks

  • ooooh i wouldnt be talkin mess like that mikey-poo.

  • whoa man calm down. i agree ej...show more energy. i know its just warming up but atleast dut shorter and louder so you dont sound sloppy. and dont talk shit about how you guys are the best if you arent. look up the woodlands high school

  • hopefully we'll have some vids up soon of us this year. we got new directors and our entire band has improved drastically.

  • @NavysealMike2008 not all warmups have to be stretching and besides simple stuff like tht stretches ur musles in ur arms taking it faster makes ur arms burn if u do it right thn u should build musle

  • @NavysealMike2008 fail comment remove

  • @NavysealMike2008 i kno exactly wht u mean dude they act like ignorent children im a quint player so i kno how u feel about retards telling u there little band is better

  • oh. a different cypress creek...

  • what kind of Evans heads are those?

  • i liked the sound of those basses! :)

  • I wish your sanres would play with a full exstension it would look alot better and u'd build better chops especially on the slow tempo sixteens.

  • tight

  • It's very weird how the sound is totally off from what you see. You either have to just WATCH it or just LISTEN to it or your little brainy will hurt. Yes very good warm up guys, and yes he's right, the basses do actually sound like a BASS line!

    Brian, Bass 4

  • YES! finally a bassline with the RIGHT bass technique.

good vid.but duts need to be shorter so time doesnt slow down...well when there isnt metronome.lol

    nice job
