  • Awesome! Now we know how hard to hit the damn thing!!

  • saved my life man

  • @thekingofz1 You're welcome!

  • could U of used the puller with that U type of cv joint puller that attaches? is there room to swing the hammer (for a straight pull) if U used a cv joint puller?

  • @Romulan112 The only other option on this was a long chisel and a hammer.

  • I made one of these last month and it works great. Jody at weldingtipsandtricks does a modification of this by welding the bar of a slide hammer to the back of the grip, so it's more in line with the jaws. He feels you get a better straight line pull with that. But the disadvantage of his method is that the tool can't be easily stored in a toolbox, and it can never be screwed apart to use components for other jobs. I like the way you did it because of better versatility.

  • @spelunkerd To each their own. There's no wrong way if you like it and it works for you. ; )

  • Shoulda done the love tap!

  • @tbishop50 lol for sure!

  • COOL,B

  • Use a whale jaw vice grip, to remove these kind of cv's

  • @findtmoon Good idea. Thanks

  • whats your take on repairing cv boots? is it worth it? what about the quick fix booth that comes in two piece? would you do one if you have time to show us? i like your style. keep up the good informative videos.

  • @xwmmyster I generally don't repair them any more. Usually if a boot fails and is caught before it splits full round you can do them with successful result. Otherwise the double threat of lubrication loss and inclusions of dust and dirt cause irreparable decline in the balls and races. Once initiated the decline continues with or without a proper boot on.

  • wow brian another cool tool you rock amigo

    thanks

  • @1elAguila Thanks

  • yep i also use them for dents and steering lock breaking if i cant change it normaly

  • @transdetendal Cool

  • super cool tool

  • @2LateIWon Thanks

  • Awesome tool.

  • @watcbd Thanks. I really like it. It's also great for pulling fence, wire, nails, and any thing else you want to yank on.

  • Great tool! I have been a technician for over 38 yrs and I can tell you that we always need to be able to make our own tools. Thanks for sharing.

  • Great tip and time saver for that inevitable day! LOL! Eric at ETCG, just gave you a great shout-out on the FATR. Well deserved!! Welcome all ETCG fans! Brian's videos are filled with knowledge and useful experience!!

  • @epiphaknee Really? Right on! That makes a guy feel good doesn't it?

  • Great idea. I have an adjustable pry bar that usually works. I'll be making one of these now for the real stubborn ones. GM 4x4 drivers side axles are the worst to get out. I've had to remove the diff and split the case on a few.

  • @vipermech I love mine. I use it quite a bit.
