I remember seeing this movie in 1980 and liking the music at the same time I was SHOCKED with this scene... a fellow cook, (Greg P.) at the restaurant I worked at in Bloomington Minn. who was a blast to work with, he was well known gay... one time stuck a kosher wiener down his throat all the way down for laughs out of us and then put it on the grill to be served to a customer... It was really funny... I thought of him when I saw this movie
I love this clip because gay men are always stereotyped as feminine & weak and this clip shows that isn't true because gay men worship machismo. The mainstream media does not like to show macho gays because making us appear weak is a tool for homophobes. As an example Brian Sims was the first college football captain to come out and I never saw it on the news. I was 19 when Cruising premiered at the theatres and I have never seen it, thank you for taking the time to post this great video!
oddly enough this movie when it came out was too controversial to be shown in a lot of movie theaters across the country I ended up seeing it at a MILITARY base theater lol.. maybe the military has lots of guys into leather
sped-up disco bits pretty cool, but track not too good-check out 'deep inside'- no.1 is similar to this-'CRUISING' montage,BUT with a really funky, deep house track to boot! VicVanDYKE

@TheNaomiengland The song is called Lump. The group is Mutiny. It was released on the Cruising soundtrack and has been out of print for many years.
This is a remix by the poster deejaypeeplay. Contact him if this is the version you like. The original pops up on ebay from time to time.

How do you mix MUTINY on this? It's only one of the strangest, most powerful songs ever made. Don't need messin' with.

Thought messin' with Mutiny was sacrilege, but I'm kinda liking this. Nice job!
