I swear to the lord I have never seen such dangerous driving as I saw in Ulaanbaatar. Never rent a car there, it would be a one way ticket to hell. Renting a taxi is scary enough.

I paid $185 for a one way in year 2006, but I don`t know how much the return flight is nowadays. The ticket was bought from MIAT office in Ulaanbaatar. Good value for money, if compare for siting in a train at least 30 hours trough hot Gobi desert!!!

First of all, im going to say, this I have lived there for 4½ years (mainly in Ulaanbaatar), and mongolia has only a population of 2½ million and yes they are "poor", but the nature is absolutely fantastically beautiful. With that population your never going to fill the whole country with buildings etc. And thats a good thing...
