  • i think i will, Well damn he is the best ive seen.

  • good sir,! thanks for the upload!! :)

  • Well Damn...

  • @foxxboxx69 don't say it! this is the true International Martial Arts, I'm Japanese and Filipino are same

  • Mr. Inosanto you are a genius..I see why Bruce Lee thought so highly of you..I've been studying eskrima for 2 years now and will never stop..much respect..Jason(New Zealand)

  • @jasonthedragon73 any chance of you doing some instructional vids on empty hand? there arnt any clubs where i am am. all the vids on youtube are are on sticks and any decent empty hand vids (rick young/Inosanto)were deleted or are of naff quality and not well taught. iv learnt a bit mainly from what iv seen and made up myself, though it does work there is only so much i can learn like this so it would be great if you could do some vids and i bet it would be quite popular

  • Where do you get that dummy from?

  • Kali and Eskrima are very interesting, and fun, but those sticks HURT when you get hit with them! Man he's fast.

  • Has anyone noticed this dummy has been hung? Basically guru Dan is beating a motionless coat! My guess is someone asked him one too many questions about Bruce Lee! Dan is indeed the man:)

  • The music makes this! Just kidding.....

  • despite what wikipedia says, filipinos did not invent Kali to fight off spaniards. it was already a rooted art form that had been around for many generations as perpetuated through their culture.

  • this makes me wanna watch Pirates of Caribbean

  • no Kali/escrima wasn't made to fight off the spaniards, the name escrima was developed by the spaniards which means fencing, the filipinos learnt this art a very long time ago during the time before armour was made, they originally used bull horns as weapons and was originally a art which was used to fight to the death as sometimes entertainment. you guys rely too much on wikipedia!

  • @carlarganda Late reply. What do you rely on? Please do share. I never heard such a story. I myself rely on archaeological excavations, antiquities and the records of the Spanish, Japanese, Brunei and China. People had armour. The oldest ones known so far are from the 13th ct. they are even made out of metal. And where'd you get that sutff with the bullhorns from? I never heard of that either.

  • this is bad ass beleive me.

  • This Martial Art was developed from fighting the Spaniards. so thats a pretty epic history right there.

  • @stickmanpivot Wrong. FMA was around long before Spain raped the Philippines.

  • @ifiwasabug Of course FMA was around. But Kali was developed for fighting off the Spanish. Check out wiki, yo!

  • @ifiwasabug Of course FMA was around. But Kali was developed from fighting off the Spanish. Check out wiki, yo!

  • @ifiwasabug Yes, but Kali was developed from fighting off the Spaniards. I don't know anything, but Wikipedia says so.

  • This is Jason Bourne's long-lost grandpa!

  • wala kayo sa sinawalli ng pilipino katulad ko

  • Great as always!

  • I wish I could see more Filipino Martial Arts here in the Philippines because it isn't famous here in the Philippines anymore especially in Manila where colonial mentality syndrome strongly exist.

  • wow amazing

aunque a veces parece que le quita el polvo,

    eso si debe doler jaja

  • Thanks Dan for that nice demo, hope you can promote the art not only here in U.S. but troughout the world. Back home its a dying art and only local barrio drunkards do it because most of the younger generations are into basketball not realizing how short they are.

  • im proud of dan... a fellow filipino... wish he could teach me...

  • OUCH! OUCH! OUCH!....men thats cool...

  • mr akebono: there's nothing wrong with taekwondo, but it sometimes is sad to see that most there may not be that many people who are into arnis. so i do agree with you except for the cussing of the other arts.

anyway, i'm entering taekwondo to compliment arnis.

  • Ang Lakas at Bilis si U.Dan Deadly sha =)

  • Wtf. When I clicked on this in my recommended list the pirates of the caribean music starts playing, and then when i scroll up the search bar the words klause bedalt appear in my search bar. Apparently he has something to do with pirates. This is so frekin creepy. Did this happen to anyone else?

  • there is no art better then art but there are a player beter than a player

every art has a place and a time

  • I need a man-dummy!

  • jak bym ci pierdolna pala bejzbolowa to bys sie posral

  • These techniques look like they were meant for bladed weapons.

  • the sticks are used to more or less represent a bolo or kris

  • Dan a living Legend!!!! the original mr cool...

  • Dan Inosanto THE MASTER OF KALI!!!!

  • So that means the other guy can have one too? It basically becomes a game of who shoots who first then.

Although from 4-5 feet away if someone of reasonable fitness intends to attack you, he can close the distance and slice your throat or wrist before you can draw the gun, disengage the safety, cock it and aim and fire.

Unless you are crazy enough to not have the safety on. It might save you a few tenths of a second.

  • is inosanto the man who foughtagainst bruce lee in one of his movies?

  • @bizarrrr Yep. Game of Death. He was Bruce Lee's best friend and eas the only one who was given a certificate from Bruce Lee to teach JKD. Even though Ted Wong and Jerry Poteeet also were Bruce's top students and keep his legacy alive by teaching it.

  • it this happens to you, pain will be about everywhere on your body.

  • Guro Inosanto is living compendium of Martial Knowledge. Chinese, Fillipino, Malay, Thai, Western.

    A true living treasure.

  • that wud hurt so fukin bad

  • Wow, how did he do the man-dummy, look relaxing to hit it jajajaa

  • That was fucking neat

  • Patay ka talaga magellan!! Mabuhay si Lapu lapu!!! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!!!

  • He is filipino but living in America. Google his name.

  • ,.,what is dan's nationality

  • First pure Filipino, secondo Filipino American.....

    Hello, Dan im your idol.

  • he's a FILIPINO!

  • do they still fight with sticks in the streets of the philippines?

  • He never still fight with stick in streets of the Philippines.

  • This weapons training applies to empty hands. That is the whole point of training with the weapons.

  • no we are peaceful people only squater people fights with fraternities they are the dumbest people in the philippines they do hazing stuff like smacking a puddle in your butt what an idiot

  • @jerwinrocks -rich people are the real idiots in the philippines. they kill each each other like animals, more savage than animals look at the ampatuans and mangudadatu. and you didnt know rich kids are the leaders of fraternities, many rich kids are killed in hazing. a rich man killed her wife by putting her in a drum put cement and thrown in to the sea. rich ppl are the real killers in the philippines.

  • well that is life..=)

  • LOL just coz u cant handle da streetz of da provincez

  • @BrownFlip7852

im not really a warfreak though.. i live in a peaceful life =)

  • whats with the pirates of the caribbean theme song.

  • its not the Pirates of the Carribean...

    its the music from GLADIATOR

    you fool

  • It's Pirates Of The Carribean, and if I'm a fool. You must be the dumbest motherfucker who ever lived.

  • its in both i think?

  • No. Just in Pirates. But it is the same composer (Hans Zimmer) which is why it may sound close.

  • lapu lapu aveva usato questa tecnica per ucidire fernando magelano della spagna,,,mbuhay ang pilipinas,,XD

  • filipino is the best in arnis

  • Bahala Na!!!

  • Apparently Dummy's Can't Think Either.

  • I cant possibly get enough of this video

  • Dummy dont hit back

  • Dan>you

  • what the heck does that have to do with anything. I'm guessing you think heavy bags are useless?

  • Kali Owns all

  • saintromes, I think you're a big bag of wind. I take it personal when someone insults my country, my tradition and my culture. I would like to meet you someday and I assure you, it won't be pretty! TOSSER!

  • you brits really know nothing about us....lol

  • we'll folks originally that bamboo sticks should be blades called kris in both hands but it did banned by the spanyiards and in became sticks....for us not to threaten them....simply because they have very poor martial arts...made magellan killed by lapu-lapu!

  • GRANDISSIMO MAESTRO!!!

  • hey guys listen to this..no one in this world had beaten bruce lee in a real hand to hand combat...NOT!!!

that guy inosanto did beat bruce lee...thats why bruce lee incorporated filipino martial arts in jeet kune do..and they became good friends...

  • Impressive but firearms have rendered most of this stick fighting obselete. Who attacks you with sticks or even swords?? Better to train with guns!

  • I would suggest you read up on the "21 foot rule" before dismissing close range weapons as obsolete. If you work in law enforcement or security, you know that edged and impact weapons are far more prevalent in street encounters than firearms. This is why those who take their survival seriously supplement firearms training with close quarter weapons training. Firearms are necessary but unlike blades or sticks can run out of ammo and malfunction.

  • Also, it is far more difficult to miss with a blade or stick...even with little or no training. A drunk who is barely standing can get shot and keep coming at you and possibly kill you if he has a stick, knife or even a broken bottle. To depend on a gun for every situation is risky, even for the most experienced and skillful shooter, because of all the variables with a firearm. I am a shooter myself, but also recognize the need to be able to protect myself without a firearm.

  • Brp, you are right of course, I have gotten a little lazy later on in my life and rely too much on a concealed pistol. However, don't bet against me in a street situation to come out the victor, after years of training, my mindset is the best weapon available. I will take NO prisoners!! Thanks for your comments.

  • Hey, no quarrel here. I learned long ago to give a seasoned triggerman a wide berth. LOL

  • Comment removed

  • Just to make it clear out there the ancient filipinos didn't just relied on sticks to fend off foreign invaders. When Magellan came to the philippines the native filipinos were using swords, shields, spears, bow and arrows and sticks. Not to mention some they also had bronze canons albeit it doesn't have the same firepower as the spanish canons. It's not correct to claim that the filipinos or Lapu-lapu and his men were able to kill Magellan and his men just by using their sticks.

  • yeah for nice people like us our martial art is actually used for killing straight its really forward yeah is kind of opposie to our kindness and hospitaliy but change hospiality and you get hostility

  • why dont i see alot of people here doing FMA?

i mean its the SHIT! its the best! its the most lethal!

but they always do tae kwon do and shit...

  • llol

  • at west coast martial arts they mix tae kwon do and escrima

but they just call it sticks good to know there actually are others who know wat filipino martial arts are I thought me and my uncle were the only ones

  • You and your uncle are the only ones, Ssshhhh keep it hush hush.

    dope

  • akebonox25: the reason is because fma was traditionaly taught in secret. north america likes sports type martial arts like karate, tae kwon do, kempo etc. fma is very raw and violent. martial arts is about self defence, discipline etc. fma is for killing, thats why the techniques are taught in the special forces.

  • @AKEBONOX25 you dont see a lot of it because people are not aware that these forms are much better for self defense than "sport" martial arts. Karate, TKW, Kickboxing etc are all popular and mainstream because of 80's movies but they are directed more towards fitness rather than fighting.

In my own opinion a combination of FMA, Wing Chun and BJJ would make an almost unbeatable fighter. I am a practitioner of all of the above and am loving it.

  • @AKEBONOX25 Mhm, I doubt that it is the best. After all, people only have two legs and two arms. I seriously believe that it does not depend on what style you learned but on your own persoanl skill and luck. Don't get me wrong. I've been doing Arnis for 20 years now, it's just that this style here, school there thing isn't really adding anything really.

  • @AKEBONOX25 im doing Kali too and pencak silat!

  • @AKEBONOX25 For the same reason why serious newspapers in the Philippines are all in English. It's a neoclonial problem in the Philippines.

  • @AKEBONOX25 i know its so cool. but its cuz people want to learn how to defend themselves ffrom other people with weapons with their bare hands these days.

  • @AKEBONOX25 precisely its supposed to be secret because IT IS LETHAL! we don't want the mortality rate increasing now don't we.

  • @AKEBONOX25 it's so lethal you don't see to many training school in the Philippines.. just imagine a 16 yrs old expert on this... think what he can do to others he's age if got into a fight... but you can find most school in Cebu...

  • @AKEBONOX25 It's not showy enough? It's a natural human behavior to go for something that catches attention even it means disregarding practicality. However, each individual styles have its pros and cons that's why Dan Inosanto is trying to learn as much styles as he could.

  • @XF108FINALE style*

  • He fucking shreds it

  • I feel bad for the dummy.

  • Gm Angel Blancia is the creator of Kung Fu Filipino Martial Art in the Philippines and it was globalize from the whole world introduced by the martial artist of Blancia System around the globe. It is true what GLOBASTIEN said. During the Martial Law and it was Marcos Time. Security and Exchange Commission are got a big deal on that behind the truth about Blancia System.

  • Hey guys, you never been experienced regarding war in the Philippines even do Dan Inosanto same Bruce Lee. Surely GM Angel BLancia yes it is. A war soldier fight his country against Japanese soldier by using his martial arts skill during the world war the 2nd.

  • KALI..from sword to knife to stick to empty hands Kali is a fighting system not totally martial arts. Did you know that on the movie BOURNE the fight scenes were directed by instructors of kali fighting system and they were filipinos, and Matt Damon is trained in Pekiti Tirsia Kali fighting system.

  • yea man i just watched that movie (fo like the 10000th time) and i watched the bonus and saw they were trained in kali so thats why im on thsi vid lol

  • You guys are right, this isnt a martial art. ESKRIMA IS THE WAY OF THE WARRIOR.

A fighting system passed on from our ancestors, it fended off spaniards and japanese, defended against massive armies, guns and bayonets.

This is a unified sytem of eskrima, a martial art. True kali is a way of the warrior using defensive opportunities as an offensive strike.

  • fended off spaniard & japanese? lol!!! they occupied your country how can you say it fended them off?

  • they had guns, cannons and other ammunitions. if they had used ancient weapons they would have never succeeded. ask ferdinand magellan when you see him in heaven or hell. this was how he died.

  • Racist!

  • what they had advanced weaponry how can you fight someone say he has a AK-47 and you had only a bamboo stick

  • Your bragging is loud and fast! I would like to meet you someday! I will assure you, you will not be very loud after our meeting!

  • saintrome, they're are right man. kali is a martial art. many countries actually use kali to train military units such as the u.s. marines and i think also navy s.e.a.l.s. as a battle art it has proven to be effective in various situations. weaponry, empty hand techniques, kicks and grappling are practiced in kali. the sticks are substitutes for swords or bolos the same way the shinai or bamboo sword is a sub for the katana in kendo. like sifurod said keep an open mind.

  • hey fuck you saintromes its a fucking discipline so it does count. kali or eskrima is the art of defending yourself with whatever weapon you can get your hands on to you fucking arrogant nut sack. i will find you and im gonna cut those puny balls and shove it up your dad's ass

  • inosanto is very good and very fast this is because he was trained by bruce lee

  • Inosanto lover . Please search the truth about him and you can discovered his Grand Master Angel L.Blancia.

  • As Filippino martial arts teachers age, they don't seem to lose any speed or agility; as do most teachers from other systems. This is because of the emphasis in training with weapons. Weapons are taught first before empty hands; which makes it unique among all martial arts.

  • its the freakin rice that keeps them on their feet man, if they dont work out they get fat

  • Che gran master cazzuto!!!!!

  • sit ubu sit, good dog.

  • dummy doesn't hit back

  • neither would you if you were hit that many times.

  • but when your as fast as him you will be standing still in comparison. Thats something Bruce Lee forgot to mention. =p

  • wow, you're making progress! that's why they call it a dummy... a speed bag or heavy bag doesn't hit back either, so I guess we should stop using that when training boxing...

  • this is just a demonstration how effective is a stick against a human body!!i real human body would be destroyed injured deathly!!

  • Just another method of training when you are alone.Don't read to much into it, we I go shooting my targets do not shoot back but I still have to shoot to keep up my skills.Other times I & my partners when they are around use simunition & shoot at one another.Dummy training is just another building block to add & maintain one's skills.

  • Damn, Dan, I wish I could do that... Poor Dummy...

  • eliteforcecombat - sticks are used as an extension of your attack... unlike traditional weapons- that even if you lose the weapon that your holding... arnis will have the same concepts with empty hand fights... you can even kill with a ballpen ( bourne identity move) lets be prctical... this is one of the most practical M.A. ever ( krav maga as well)

  • I agree. I have heard there is a lot of useless stuff. For a functional kali, I have *heard*-- I don't know this never having practiced with them-- I have heard that Raymond Floro, Burton Richardson, and that guy who does "Riddle of Steel" are pretty good that way.

  • poor dummy..

  • 5 stars!

  • this is y ... ferdinand magellan, the great explorer ....and 3/4 of his men dead ..

  • DUDE ... theres also a..hand to hand vesion of eskrima.. same priciple,,

deadly. BUT u have the control. to ... lessen .the. amount of force..

in this version .. it teaches u to fend of attackres using knife and.

    sticks...

so ... ithink .. u can say it is.

    ideal for streetfighting

  • y dont u go an fuckurself? shit faced dickhead

  • You need to understand what your saying. Eskrima has a lot of forms there's submissions and grapling in eskrima. It is also a sport now. So fuck off white boy.

  • arm chair warrior huh. you should shut your mouth and open your mind. there is more to the filipino arts then just using a stick, but someone like you can't see past thier own ignorance. I wil pray for you.

  • @SifuRod Arnis or kali as opposed to other asian matial arts trains in reverse first you learn how to fight w/ weapons and then w/out them. Most unarmed kali techniques are about disarms so its practical to learn the weapons youre going to use against.

  • OK... what about the fact that Bruce Lee himself trains in the art of kali? The worldwide icon himself would shove that stick up your ass for saying shit like that... Of course you would call num chucks and broadswords a martial art. Just think... if you are good with a stick, you could find it almost 'anywhere' from pvc pips to bamboo to broomsticks... go make your own god damn video and let me see if you could match that guy's finese and fluidity. If you can, only then would I agree with you

  • its self defense against people with actual knives if you want practical application. just look at the stick/sword/knife to knife work as an added extra. and yeah its also a sport just like kendo where they use a weapon . i think you missed that point

  • Inosanto is a legend

  • Yeah, you can get one at a nightclub...but you'll have to marry her first. J/K

  • Anyone know where I can find a training dummy like that?

  • Inosanto is replacing the SWORD with a stick. These strike are used with a sharp blade. Kali/Escrima is a combat art made to kill. It is what the Philippinos used against the Spanish invaders. It is a combat system that works.

  • Too bad canons win over blades...

Anyway, as a fighting system it is very practical since the techniques used with the sticks/bolo/kris trickle down to the knives and the bare hands...

    Mabuhay ang Noypi...

  • dummies dont hit back

  • That must be why you get whaled on so much.... dummy.... LOL

  • imagine those sticks are lightsabers... hmmmmmm

  • lightsabers you say? hahaha possibly he'll cut himself, but that would be more deadlier

  • your ryt...lets just stick to sticks....

  • dummies dont fight back...

  • dam!

    dans fast...

  • huge fan of dan inosanto so proud to have a filipino who once trained with BRUCE LEE.....

  • Why is it always a dummy or a man that act like a dummy?

  • because they are demonstrating,

it would be less than 10 seconds had it been a real swordsman

  • He is like a godly dervish.. Go sir.

  • yo m8, do you know the name of the song being played? sounds good, be appreciated thanks

  • should be 'He's a Pirate'

  • thanx m8 will check it out
