  • Oh that's how you do it.

I think I get it now.

  • this is outstanding. melody, tone, & enough flash to make it more exciting. great job!

  • @sltwentytwo Thanks!

  • what kind of tubes are you running in there? sounds amazing

  • @fallingspears77 Thanks.. I used JJ tubes in this amp.

  • маршалл + фендер = заебись

  • What pickups do you use for the bridge? Nice playing :)

  • @dania7x555 Thanks. Seymour Duncan Lil Screamin Demon was in the bridge.

  • Music!!!

  • Very tastefully done. I love how heavy yet so tastefull! Love it!

  • @mcjj66 Thanks!

  • does it has very heavy distortion?

  • @Max45090 Its pretty heavy with an overdrive. It wouldn't do extreme metal though i don't think.

  • DAMN THAT WAS BADASS!!!

    Redgull i have a question

  • Sweet playing dude! And you have exquisite taste in amps.

  • nice job man!

  • wow, that was amazing, is there anyway i can download this song?

  • @Rock4Ever80s Thanks. Yeah, it is on itunes and there is a link on my channel for CDbaby.

  • Nice Ritchie Blackmore touch there.

  • What backing track or song is this? Thanks!

  • @MysterixiFy This is an original tune of mine called "Hourglass".

  • @oceantidestudio Too bad, cuz its awesome! :)

  • Sir one questions, i have a dsl 401 and a gibson lp traditional whit mics 57, do you think if i buy a overdrive pedal like od-3 o something like that, can i get the slash tone??, thanks very much.

  • @RedGullArgentina Sure, i think you could get a Slash tone with a DSL amp. With an overdrive pedal like an sd-1 or od-3 no problem. There is a video here on youtube with a guy playing slash stuff with a dsl401.

  • Just a estupids questions Mr, i have a dsl 401 and a Gibson LP traditional whit mics 57, do you think if i buy a overdrive pedal, can i get the Guns and roses tone, thanks very much.

  • I'm joining the 401 club soon, my amp should be here tomorrow or sometime this week, and i really appreciate this video, since i play a squier jap strat and your videos are reasuring me i made the right choice

  • @trogador95 Thanks. Hope you enjoy your new amp.

  • @oceantidestudio do you recommend any tube configurations, or OD pedals that go along with the amp well?

  • @trogador95 I use JJ or EH tubes. I have used a Boss SD-1, DOD YJM308 and Xotic BB preamp all with great results.

  • Hi, can this amp give an early metallica/megadeth sound?

  • @LongLiveThrash93 I think so with an overdrive pedal. i believe they both used Marshall in the early years. Metallica started using Mesa Boogie later on though and other stuff .

  • @oceantidestudio

I tested a JCM2000 DSL 401 combo today.. the same as in this ivdeo..

I think that the OD1 Channel with gain set to 3 o'clock, then finding the right EQ about treble 12 o'clock, mids 3 o'clock and bass 1 o'clock, I was able to find a nice thrashy sound with my Gibson LP Studio with stock pickups. Can't wait to get the amp.. It's really awesome for the price.

  • @DrSteelgrave Hope you enjoy the amp. Its gonna sound great with the Gibson Les Paul.

  • @oceantidestudio

Yep, I am.. I want to get that amp ASAP. Btw, I love this piece here and then also Rasputin, really awesome tracks! Great guitar work... Especially the part starting on this song at 1:22 is really catchy.

  • is this a mighty morphin power rangers cover

  • @laudennn ?

  • wow the 3:27 bend and run down the guitar gets me going! i listened to it 5 times in a row..the dundundun da duuun part :)

  • You're a genious man, it's an amazing song!!! I have a fender stratocaster american highway one with Dimarzio YJM in neck position too and a DOD YJM 308...i'm gonna buy a Marshall DSL 401 soon...i had some sound doubts about it but now that i saw your video i can figure how will it sounds. Thanks!!!

  • @rodrigoaeguiazu Thanks a lot man. I'm glad you liked it. You will have nice setup then and get a great sound. Best of luck to you!

  • like your tapping!

  • what pickups are using in this guitar?

  • @fuzzymuffPI Seymour Duncan Lil Screamin Demon in bridge and Dimarzio YJM in neck.

  • ) tanx , nice playing & song.

  • Thankyou for these videos, you are an incredible, precise soloist, great inspiration ,looking for more videos.

  • @dnhrage1 Thank you very much for watching!

  • are you useing drive amp + dod 308?

or only dod drive? tanx :)

  • @martyfridman Yes, i am using the dod308 to boost the red drive channel on the Marshall.

  • good job!!!...one questions...what's effects use over distortion??...reverb and delay??

  • @gunsnroll Thanks! I just use a little delay when i am mixing the song.

  • quick question. This amp has a direct out, but you are using an mic. any reason why?

  • @fallingspears77 I prefer the mic sound better than the di out on the back. I find i get more clarity that way.

  • I am so glad I own that amp, I punched it in looking for demos and there were your videos, they all are awesome. I listen to them all the time. I like how alot of people ask for settings on amp and equiptment, I even did. Its your technical ability that makes you sound so good, I bet you could plug into a toaster and make that thing scream, sorry, long comment Thanks for posting vids

  • Cool.

  • I think u should go to guitar idol w/ this song !!

u made this song up ?

Btw this so amazing ! ^^

  • @Metalclub1 Maybe i should have entered this one. Thanks a lot for watching. Yes i wrote this tune.

  • never heard marshall+strat... nice sound, what pickups are you using?

  • @CoolParkourName Thanks. I had a Seymour Duncan Lil' screamin demon in the bridge and a Dimarzio yjm in the neck.

  • @oceantidestudio how does the lil' screaming deamon compare to a full sized JB humbucker??? ive tryed alot of humbuckers in an LP and SG but i never seem to get the right kind of clarity and cut... do SC sized humbuckers sound a tiny bit more clear and cutting than a full humbucker?

  • @CoolParkourName I've never had a full sized humbucker in my strat so i can't say really. It still sounds like a strat with it but fuller compared to a sc.

  • great playing!! Go on like this!! :)

  • @Conrad186 Thanks!

  • Very nice playing....

  • 5 stars! exellent!!

  • can you give me your amp and pedal settings? i have the same amp and pedal but i don't know how create this sound :)

    thanks riko

  • @RikoGuitar4Life Thanks Riko. The Marshall was: OD2 (red)Gain:10, volume: 5, treble: 0 or 1, middle: 5, bass: 10. The yjm was: Gain: three oclock, Level: 12 oclock.

    Hope this helps.

  • @oceantidestudio did you use a noise suppressor?

thanks a lot for the help!

    awesome sound and song!

    Rock on \m/,

    Riko ^^

  • @RikoGuitar4Life Thanks Riko. No i didn't use one, but i should have. You can hear some noise on the break..

  • @oceantidestudio by the way (can't post comments otherwise :'/ ) what do you think about headroom and dynamics of that amp ? It's my only worry , 'cause it seem to sound good otherwise . And would you choose it over a peavey classic 30 , why ?

  • @GroovyGuitar02 I think the headroom is fine on the amp. It's 40 watts, so the headroom is cool. I like the dynamics and feel of the amp as well. Its touch sensitive especially with a strat. I've never played the classic 30, so i can't compare the two really. I think its just a question if you desire the Marshall tone or not which i do. Thanks.

  • @oceantidestudio thanks a lot :)

  • You deserve to be really famous your playing is amazing, By the way are those stock pickups?

  • @joellesperance Thanks a lot. The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan Lil' screamin demon and the neck pup is a Dimarzio yjm.

  • no offense, your awesome but why are you playing a squier?

  • @Eddielovemuse90 Thanks. I'm just a poor boy... Actually it is a nice guitar. It's one of the older ones made in Mexico with some Seymour Duncan and Dimarzio pups which is a big part of ones tone i think.

  • @oceantidestudio yeah . Some squiers are awesome .

plus , as long as the guitar feels and plays great , looks good and most of all , sounds great , who cares of the brand ! I used to love my tiny squier strat' very much . Now i have an us standard strat , and i love that thing ! but still , i keep thinking squier guitars are the best choice for people who can't/don't want afford expensive guitars because ... good pickups , good set-up ,and voila , you have a very nice and good-sounding guitar!

  • @oceantidestudio used to shred like crazy on my old squier , to .

Sounded better than my 1200$ 7-string ibanez for soloing ... that's why i sold the 'banez and bought myself a strat , those are awesome for soloing . And if you choose well the pickups , you can do some grinding metal with it too .

  • Wow... My mind was just blown...

  • that run into the pitch harmonic @ 2:37 on brilliant!

  • this is some great playing.

this is all original am i right? if so. wow!

do you have any tips on writing your own riffs and stuff? i'm struggling :(

  • @mefmef21 Yeah, i like to write my own stuff mostly. just keep at it. Everybody goes through droughts. It comes and goes. Just play a lot and have a recorder ready to go. We all have songs in us.

  • Shredders and blues players (Jimi wannabe's or SRV clones) on Youtube are a dime a dozen. This video however is a great example of a musician who plays with feeling and the technical prowess to match.

  • @flamenco77 That's why I love to watch Gary Moore play guitar so much. Nobody spills their soul onto a fretboard like Moore.

  • @flamenco77 Thank you kindly. It's a question of balance like anything in life.

  • Awesome playing! I love players who put their soul into what they play, and you're certainly one of them. Oh yeah, I just bought this guitar. From the research I've done, these particular "Squier Series" Strats are better than a lot of the lower end Fender Strats that have been produced over the years. BTW, do you have the trem arm? Noticed a bit of hum when you paused for a sec. Does the guitar need some shielding or was it just the Marshall? Either way, can't wait to get it. Peace!

  • @bossfrog Thanks man!

I think your gonna love this strat. Actually, i hate to part with it. The Squier Series are better than a lot MIM's. The neck on this thing is unbelievable. It's set up really well too. It didn't come with a trem arm when i got it, sorry. i just saw one on ebay for $4:00 though. This thing is dead quiet between the screamin demon and the yjm pups. The noise culprit is the DOD308. Most guys use a noise gate which is a good idea with that overdrive. It's noisy as hell.

  • Exelent! graet sound! The YJM 308 is conected in the clean channel?

  • @ddstalta Thanks, No the yjm308 is in front of the red OD channel to push it over the edge

  • Great tone.

  • @gtrjoe68

    Thank you..
