  • listen to that audience, it's like they've just discovered sex,...or yodeling

  • DAMN HE WAS THE FKN BEST

  • I feel lucky to be alive in this time in history. We had Hank Williams AND recording at the same time, now generations of people will have the pleasure of knowing who this man was. But, I still can't shake the feeling of how awesome it would have been to see this live. I know, when I get to heaven, I'm goin to Hillbilly heaven, where the fun don't stop and the music goes all night, and all our favorite country musicians will be there singin with us.

  • Arguably the greatest country singer ever! O'l Hank's songs have stood the test of time and will continue to do so...

  • announcer is Red Foley. Must be on his hour at the Opry.

  • Absolute jaw dropping utter perfection! It simply does not get any better than this.

  • my grandpa used to sing this to me to put me to sleep when i was little and he sounded kinda like hank

  • Hank Williams: The Biography Early Chapter Examines Singer's Inspiration From Street Musician

Initially published in 1994, an updated version of Hank Williams: After emerging as one of country music's most famous singers in the early 1950s, Williams often credited Alabama street musician Rufus "Tee-Tot" Payne as his musical mentor. This excerpt from Hank William explains the inspiration that Tee-Tot provided and why Williams was barely influenced by the first country superstar, Jimmie Rodgers.

  • Id like to find this.

  • luke the drifter

  • Hankity Panky. haha I Love It

  • i see were jr got his inspiration hanks brill maan

  • reminds me of being little and driving in the car with my dad-

  • I hate that "Hanky Panky" that Red Foley, and others, refered to Hank. He had been kicked off the Opry for drinking and missing appearances...but he was the GREATEST of his time.

  • Great, great, great! Thanks Alan

  • Pure class!

  • reinstate hank u fucks

  • Damn, I got chills!

  • Hank's Blues had no drugs, booze, references to "pig foot, jelly roll or backdoor men" never feeling sorry for himself, he turned his blues lyrics into ironic jokes, puns and positive thinking.

  • @MosheNL

Your comment about Hank Williams is spot on, that's exactly what I feel about him but you put precisely. I've only just begun to really get into the great man, but his irony and puns are fantastic. I understand now why people like Bob Dylan and Tom Waits and many other singer songwriters rate him so highly.

    Cheers.

    Patrick.

  • @MosheNL Before you carry on with your tunnel-vision, racist myopic diminishing views re black roots music, get a clue: history, race aka slavery! thus class, culture forms each produced different vernacular & expressions. Yet if it gets you off to compare in such foolish judgmental ways, NOTE: "Hank Williams "Sr" As unfashionable as it was to acknowledge the influence of black musicians, Hank later went out of his way to give Payne full credit. "All the music training I ever had was from him,"

  • pure awesomeness

  • hfpitman surely im not the only one that likes this song
