Celebs are in the public eye. The public buy the same clothes as celebs, they have their hair styled the same, why wouldn't the public form opinions based on what celebs say and do? Again, ONE doesn't ask for money, though that is an OPTION. It creates awareness. Could you live on less than a dollar a day? Have no food or clean water? Feeling sick, well don't even think about it. The people which ONE aims at need help. The celebrities are not out to "seek credit." They participte to encourage people to help. I'm not clear what the one vote is.
Certainly not an option in this election -- although I expect the best bet for better, more compassionate international aid and relations would be the Democrats. In terms of percentage of governmental budgets, the US gives less than most European countries and perhaps some Asian ones, although that figure may have changed since we are trying without much success to rebuild what has been destroyed in Iraq as a result of our invasion and occupation.

You see, Clinton had to deal with a republican congress. Everyone who said anything about Celebs or government is retarded. This has NOTHING to do with them. Please wise up people. You need to care. The celebs are abusing the media here in any way. They're merely trying to make you care, which may be very difficult...GROW UP. These are REAL issues.

Some of the comments above, prove that sometimes it is necessary for Celebs to get preachy, b/c some people obviously just don't get it. Doesn't matter if you are con or lib, Rep or Dem, erradicating AIDs, and ensuring clean water, and fighting complete poverty should be a priority. Since when did having compassion become soley a liberal or conservative thing?

Hopefully my country can united and vote the current non effective government out of office to elect people that care. As an African American I see that we have lost our way. For those of you who seem not to care. I wish that you find out what its like to be poor or have something like aids. Or better yet if someone like a family member, friend or maybe you directly see the dark side of life. Then your opinion with change.

Celebs are in the public eye. The public buy the same clothes as celebs, they have their hair styled the same, why wouldn't the public form opinions based on what celebs say and do? Yes they are not politicians but they do have political points to make. I for one think it's good that they can bring these points to the publics attention through their fame.

No prob with the celebs voicing their opinion for the good of the world....but the problem comes in when they are missinformed which I find is the case a lot of the times. Lots of celebs egar to save the world and there are lots of Rights groups eagar to make a buck and find a celeb naive enough to join their cause.
