Probably Alfonso X was not the composer of any of the songs, but he acted as mecenas, client or collector. The songs may have been composed at his order, or may only have been collected and bundled.
@samopdrift Kinda. These songs are mainly profane melodies ( cantigas de amigo ) that got sacred lyrics afterwards. Whether trobadours or Alfonso X himself wrote these lyrics remains beyond my knowledge.

"found in his collection"? this may mean he simply collected some songs to put with this collection. so all may not be of his composing.
