But what really happened is that she was sucked into time paradox, most likely the Historia Crux, teleporting her to Valhalla, an alternate dimension known as the 'invisible world'. It's a place dislodged from time itself. In turn, this event practically altering her history, with everyone thinking she's dead or crystallized with Fang and Vanille. Everyone except Serah.

@Luchia285 The people of New Bodhum think she's dead. She left the others to find a way to free Vanille and Fang. She's been gone for something like three years. Now she protects Etra, the goddess that saved Vanille and Fang during the War of Transgression. Snow has gone off to find Lightning. It's all laid out in a Japanese novella called Final Fantasy XIII: Episode 1. It basically covers the story after the end of the first game but before the second.

I can still remember one of the first proper trailers they showed for FFXIII, I think it only even included lightning, snow and fang (the shiva battle scene). I'm pretty sure the full team will most likely consist out of more than 3 characters. Well... That is unless this will be somewhat like FFX-2 :p.

They both had a messed up argument because Serah didn't wanna have a baby so in the end, they divorced. The heartbroken Snow left Cocoon and traveled to the other side of Gran Pulse to start a new life. As for Serah, she's now with another guy... So much for true love. Pffftt!

@wasimaxchao no, the story is, that at the beginning they are trying to restore their lifestyle after the whole crystal stasis happened to everybody, lightning runs away because she doesnt know what to do with her life, after a while serah realizes shes gone and everybody assumes she died, thats why they said shes dead, however serah KNOWS that lightnings alive and goes and looks for her along the way noel comes and helps her too
