@TheBulletproofer Shit your right. I've never notiched that before and i dont think most others have So 10 internets to you!! I'am not going back to it anyway not until i do the dvd anyway.
The most possible reason why Henri crashed, was his driving. He had the courage to drive fast on tarmac, he was 25 seconds faster than anyone else. When look him drive to corners, you can see, that he never makes it. Lancia S4 `s engine is at the back, so on my opinion, he had to make a barrel roll, to make the car burn like that, most probably he came into that corner doing too fast. R.I.P. Henri and Sergio.
Superb Video well done for the fantastic work, god knows where you got all the clips from but with some footage i've never seen before!
Do you know the name of the english guy who was interviewing Henri in Corsica? It seems sad to see Henri taking about how crazy the group B cars had got and fate had already decided that he would be its next victim!
@crashes1978 No i don't Know who the guy is. I've looked into it myself since the rally reports he's featured in have some great Group B footage i would like to get hold off.
I think he's in the "Sports Seen" rally reports which were out in the 80s and 90s on vhs but i have yet to track down any copys.
Excellent video eulogy of Henri's talbot days to the Lancia days, it goes to show that group B was for men. Lots of new and unseen footage with some fantastic interviews, loved the voiceovers, nuff said. So whats next for Marv inc then?
Beautiful work Mav. Amazing footage. It shows that Group B wasn't banned just because of poor crowd control, but also because of the overwhelming challenge these cars were to drive, especially with 4 hours seat time per day. Just crazy. Respect to all the drivers and co-drivers.
thankyou for this amazing footage! toivonen was a true tarmac specialist! Unforuntaly from what i understand, the lancia S4 was like a go kart. imagine driving that for such a long time on full slicks in corsica, with you muscles hurting from a cold. very hard.
Amazing footage which of some I have only seen on these seven editions. I just loved group b and have always thought that maybe with much better safety and crowd control group b could return. Henri was such a very special talent but back then if you had a bad crash that was it. Alot of modern day rally drivers have had terrible accidents and have walked away. Such a tragic event but I am so glad people like yourself keep Toivonens memory alive. Thank you
Marvdogger its brilliant ! thank you for all ypour work )) maybe you should make a film about Henri as was done with Senna ?

Cheers for all the comments guys. It was fun to make going, through lots of footage and decieding what was going to make that cut and what was'nt.
Still wish it was one long movie but it would never have got uploaded since my BB upload speed is under 1mb.
For the time being this movie is the ultimate resource for anyone wanting to know about Henri's rally career.
Now everyone should go back to part 1 and rewatch the whole thing.

For me Senna was the Magic One. Them Gilles. Probably, in the third position Toivonen.
jonybr10 1 month ago
@jonybr10 I think Henri was still the best all-round driver ever. Senna and Villeneuve were "only" circuit racers.
