Im really new at this; I have the right string becuase I make bracelets out of it, but what kind of needle do I need? I am trying to embroider some letters into a bag I made from a t-shirt. Help please.
@thealexinator00S There are "embroidery" needles available at most fabric or craft stores, even Walmart. They have finer tips. I would suggest a very fine needle for t-shirt material. Let me know how it goes. would love to see a pic when you're done! Hugs
@EvaEvaEva923 Thanks, i found all the info I need online, went to the craft store, then made a grip bag for gymnastics prettier. How would I send you a picture? Do you have an email?
Fantastic Video! Just curious, after washing it, will the embroidery flatten or something? And, for the fill stitches, can i stitch similar to the satin stitches (like, side by side) instead of just stitching in any direction? will it still have the pop out effect? :)
@New2iN6 Thanks for watching and commenting! I hand wash all my embroidered items and as long as your stitches are secure, they should last a long time. It';s recommened to do different directions for the puffy look and also you don't want to make holes with your needle or your embroidery could collapse. I hope that helps you and great questions! Hugs Eva
You did it again. What a good class. Thanks. I have a machine that does it but it's nothing like sticking items by hand. The recipient can feel the love of every stitch. Plus, keeping ones skills up is great. Happy stitching!
@genevieveivy Thank you so much. Hand embroidery does seem to be a lost art with all the new machines. I have a fancy one too, but not all of us do and it's good to keep the "traditional arts" alive and well. If you attempt any yourself, remember to share them with us. Would love to see! Hugs xxx Eva
Eva, this is glorious! I cannot express my thanks enough for you! Finally a tutorial that is crisp and clear! I appreciate this so much! Thank you! :)
Love this video, all the other embroidery videos I've seen don't show basics and tools so this is awesome! Thank you!
