they shouldnt even have had the truck at the head of the fire anyway you suppose to fight brush fire from burned side of the fire anyway and lake of communication a big part plus this is also why the state of ny passed a sop not to ride on the out side of the firetrucks anyway!!!!!
well said ive actually suggested watching this episode and the video of the log pinned baby on using the air bags to the chief of my volunteer company for one of our training programs
What do you mean they are both terrible? If it weren't for volunteer's you wouldn't have any fire protection. And with the state law's at least in PA the training that you have to do is equal to a career Firefighter.
In a few years Texas will be passing a law that says volunteers will have to have Fire Fighting Phases 1-4 to even be considered a basic FF. If that goes into effect that will devastate the VFD's statewide.
on a lighter note there was a volunteer fireman who developed obesity on a show called BIG MEDICINE and heres the catch: he developed ptsd after witnessing a fellow firefighter open the door of the vehicle and he fell under and died.
check out part 2 of 2 of this episode. that's the one i'm in. i'm jim davis, the paramedic on the episode that does that cool john belushi eyebrown thingy when i say "i was concerned he might not make it"
You took the words right out of my mouth, David. I've been thinking about that, too. Shatner's intro is almost 30 seconds long. Also, it seems to me that he is speaking at a somewhat slower pace than usual.

the dodge on this vid was 4X4 but that muddy terrain can be a real bitch, sometimes 4 wheel drive will just dig you deeper

wow the driver's an idiot!
sport1mandi 3 years ago
He couldn't see directly behind him. The guy that got run over should have told the driver he was getting off the truck.
allgood2000 3 years ago 6
yes as a firefighter your supposed to keep communication at all times
bushwhacked59 3 years ago 4
@allgood2000 my dad yelled several times to stop aka the firefighter that got ran over so dont judge thanks
Alexiswashere123 1 year ago
@sport1mandi accidents happen in the fire service he didnt run him over on purpose
firemanupton 1 year ago
How many times did he run him over ? I count 3.
s10trav 3 years ago
I also counted three, but don't think the tires went over him every time.
allgood2000 3 years ago
Actually, I think he missed him twice and got him on the 3rd time.

@s10trav over him just once

105-956 long speeches before segment starts.
101-105-107 hand gestures made by shatner.
gregorkrause 4 years ago 4
speaking of long intros in #105-956 , #101-105-107 had shatner making different hand gestures to each intro.

that guy is the worst firefighter ever.
miked36258 4 years ago
yeah it was kinda foolish not to tell the apparatus operator he's getting off the truck. but otherwise he wa a good ff and a good kid.

I don't think I've seen this one before.

It never aired on the Family Channel. It did air in syndication, but not on Reality TV, Odyssey, or DHC.

I think that might be Shatner's most long-winded introduction ever.
allgood2000 4 years ago
right you should ask or go check to see if any one was behind then back up
narutodude446 4 years ago
The firefighter who got run over failed to remind his partner he would be behind him. Simple lack of communication.
