why would you not put the port facing forward.. your not going to get the air feed back like a regular trunk, so sounding the loudest IN the car would be to put the port forward...

@ adamsuave..If you need to try that many times to get it right, then you dont know what your doing. LOL. Actually, the port loc. would depend on the phase of the driver with the box. Maybe this box is in phase around 90 deg.while yours was different. You don;t know that. To be frank, the best possible port location if you want to talk simple ports, would be facing up not forward for less distortion and higher compression within the cabin along with the propagation of the sound waves.
I got one of these Infinity perfect 12.1s running on 500rms at the moment and it drinks the power nicely. You are underpowering the sub bro. Nice box btw. Im thinkin of makin a ported enclosure for it, but don't know how it will acoustically affect the dynamic of sound. i.e. Will it be louder? Bless.
you need more power for there and thats a pretty large box you have there, although i beleive its the recommended enclosure size if i remember correctly because for the reference's i had to make a 2 cubic foot box for each sub and the box was huge
