  • super just super hot voice this is my kind of girl/lady

  • she sings

  • What a beautiful voice. Absolutely beautiful version of this song!

  • Ol' Ian is still my fav version, though,, and hi Ian, if you read this

  • she, s great but does anyone remember this song was made popular , by a real rodeo star named Moe Bandy? . . .

  • This song is what country music is all about. I grew up about 20 miles from suzy is from in Illinois. Awesome back then and still today.

  • whatever happened to Suzy?I miss her and Dwight Yokum.Saw open once for Clint Black back in '95 great show for sure.Love Ian and have seen him twice and meet him once fine man and a great musician.Love it.

  • totally agree. one of the finest remakes in music. i began working in country radio in '91 when suzie was just beginning her meteoric rise. she simply blew away almost every singer in the business. what a talent!!!!!!

  • WOW! Beauty!

  • Yes, Judy Collins did a lovely version--this Suzy Bogguss version is one of the best too! (I agree!!)

  • Excellent pickers on this project. Anyone know who the fiddler is? Thanks!

  • Tried to post a query re the pickers on this project. They're all terrific and the fiddler just knocks my socks off. Anyone know who he is? Since I post fairly frequently w/no difficulty, I was surprised when my query was held, rather than posted at once. If anyone knows why, please tell me. Thanks!

  • love trhis song sweet

  • Judy Collins did such a fine job with this song 40 years ago - and I've never been a big of remakes, but Suzy just knocks it out of the park with this version! A great arrangement, nice production - and what a beautiful, strong, clean voice! She's such a fine singer!!

  • Good and thank God from me and Myrna!

  • God with you, Suzy, then and now. Be wise.

  • I have listened to Judy Collins and Crystal Gayle and now Suzy Bogguss do this great lifes tale. I keep replaying Suzy's version however, maybe because its closer my rodeo's and life on the road.

  • Wonderful Song ! Love it ! She sings a great version of the Ian Tyson song ! One of her best ! Thanks so much for uploading ! 5*****+

  • I guess that's what is called being captured in your own time. I do hope she comes out with some great new songs.

  • Only better is Patty Loveless and Kathy Mattea on the John Denver Montana Christmas show. But for just one singer, this is it.

  • Absolutely love how she delivers this Ian Tyson song. She does ot Best.I am an Ian Tyson fan.And a Suzy Bogggus fan.

  • Someday Soon! Yea, someday soon!

  • I've been in love with Suzy for over 20 years. Should I tell her?

Seriously, how could you NOT love her!

  • Beautiful Song ! She sings a great version ! Love it ! Thanks for uploading it ! 5*****+

  • Smok'in Hot Screami'n Chick'ns....Hot Chili Peppers and all that good stuff boys...lol

  • The pedal steel solo is lifted note-for--note from the Judy Collins version, featuring Nashville great Buddy Emmons. This version, which Suzy sings beautifully, is pretty much a very close cover of Judy's version. Collins released this as a single - the album "Who Knows Where The Time Goes" featured this and was probably her greatest work. Steven Stills played awesome guitar on that album. Check it out.

  • She will never sing a better song nor be anymore beautiful than she is in this video. A great song and a beautiful woman. Super combo.

  • What a great cover of one of the best written songs of all-time; Suzy is stunning both visually and audibly in concert...as far as female voices go, she's up there with Patsy Cline and Karen Carpenter to me...

  • I love Glen Campbell's version and love this too...what a voice here!

  • Great instrumentation too. The pedal steel is perfect. I still get goosebumps from it!

  • A beautiful woman and a beautiful love song

  • Hearing this beautiful expression of young love makes me feel young again.

  • THIS LADY IS THE BEST, SMOOTHEST SINGER IN THE WORLD-ASBOLUTELY

    GREAT SINGER!!!!!

  • this kicks

  • This is a country song I suppose, but it has just as much soul as anything I've ever heard. It comes from the heart and feels like coming home. It just transcends any words.

  • I would have loved to see Suzy and Ian sing together like she sang with one of her best friends Chet Atkins. Ian, an incredible entertainer.

  • GREAT SONG GREAT VERSION

  • this is the best version yet

  • this just reminds me of being young and in love...although im older and on to another chapter in life when i hear this it still hurts my heart a little...

  • A very good version of this song. I have only known the Judy Collins version of the song till now, and Judy is a TOUGH act to follow but this lady is VERY talented!

  • I always thought Suzy was pretty and could carry a tune...but I didn't realize she had a voice like this...she is awesome and not only does she have a good voice, but she also phrases the song very well

  • Driving between Colorado and Minnesota I used to play this song a lot. Really like this song and Suzy Bogguss is great..

  • Suzy does a nice job on this tune for certain.

    Impressive, for a remake.

BUT Judy Collins owns this one, listen to both, and it is clear.

Her softer voice and delivery, can't be duplicated.

  • When I hear this song I immediately think of July 1994. I was assigned to Peterson AFB, CO and had just retired from the USAF. I was driving my pickup truck west bound on Interstate 70 heading to Steamboat Springs, CO and the Saturday night Rodeo. I must have played this song a hundred times - good thing I was alone. It was beautiful - the drive, the song, being an American - I will never forget that day!!

  • @CityLights1950 I may have been following you..you had to drive right by my house. One of my favorite songs

  • i drive highway 285 from santa fe, nm to just south of alamosa, co -- hauling 5 tons of hay per trip. as i head north and cross over the east side of san antonio mountain in nm and see the peaks of the sangre de christo's touching the sky for 150 miles in front of me -- i always think of this song.

  • @rjccjr I do believe you have a song in that little story. Nice!

  • Spirit yes there are those times, too few, but God will tap on your shoulder and whisper in your ear "You are alive." Really alive.

  • Thanks a lot for posting this.

Wonderful performance of a great song.

  • ....hard to believe that anyone could do this song better than Judy Collins and Suzy does.....goosebumps everytime I hear her voice break at 3:40.....

  • For me, psychologically speaking, it's a little disappointing that a gorgeous song such as this came out of the soul of a man, and not a woman. I'm a 100% hetro guy you see, so I guess I just have to accept that women, for whatever reason, just can't get it done in the creativity department.

    Perhaps the next world.:-(

  • Suzy Bogguss does a wonderful version of this song.

    Check out Ian Tyson's version.

  • I love all the artists, but Suzy Bogguss owns this song. Many thanks to Ian Tyson for his pen and ear.

  • The first time I heard this song was on Armed Forces Radio Korea. The next time was on Armed Forces Radio in Saudi Arabia the night the Gulf War started. Both times Suzys clear, strong voice wrote this song in letters of fire on my heart and on my soul, reminding meof my wife waiting at home for me. This song went through my mind as my plane landed at Fort Campbell Ky, where my wife waited for me. Even now, every time I hear it Im on my way home again.

  • The first time I heard this song was on ArmedForcesRadioKorea, near the end of my one year tour. The second time I heard it was on Armed Forces Radio in Saudi Arabia, the night the Gulf War started. Both times Suzy's clear, strong voice wrote this song in letters of fire on my heart and on my soul, thinking of my wife hoping for my safe return. This song ran through my mind as my plane landed at Fort Campbell,Ky, where my wife was waiting. Even now, every time I hear it I'm on my way home again.

  • One November evening...at dusk...years ago..I was driving on a long, lonely road in Montana. I pulled over and stepped out of my truck for a break. This song came on and echoed over the land. One of the most enjoyable moments in my life.

  • This is one of my favorite videos too!

  • Suzy's voice is beautiful, but Ian's version with the Great Speckled Bird will always be my favorite. He used the money from this song and Four Strong Winds,a masterpiece,to buy a ranch in Alberta. He's been a working cowboy since, and released some amazing cowboy music. There is a documentary on Bravo that includes his partner in crime when this music was created,Sylvia ,that is touching."Years are gambled and lost like summer wages."Now that's a writer.

  • the pride and joy of Illinois!!

  • i heard this song a long time ago, and wondered who did it, it wasn't until i looked up Ian that i found out. I love this version, would it not be funny to see her do it with Ian, like as if, lol

  • The original "hit" was in 1969 by July Collins.... do yourself a favor and listen to her version.... The recorded version if you can find it... either way... Judy has the most pure voice

  • Her voice is so pure.

  • Not knocking Suzy in any way, I love her, Kathy Mattea does this too and she also does it great.

  • Thanks for signing my albums Suzy. My rodeo days are over, but I still love her, and her Ma and Pa can only share her love with me.

  • I saw her do this song in Aledo Ill her hometown....it was a free concert and she was awesome!

  • Love the steel guitar in this.

  • @corvus13 Love the steel by Buddy Emmons in Judy Collins' version,(Who Knows Where the time Goes),myself.Reckon you'd like it too.

  • I know Ian Tyson (who wrote this) is Canadian, but this song is the sound of Texas and Oklahoma. It's hard to explain, but this song just takes me there.

  • Grew up in western Oklahoma with friends all over the Texas Panhandle. Rodeo was a way of life, with most towns having a "ropin' club" and a rodeo grounds. I miss it.

  • I'm ashamed to admit this, but I always thought Suzy Bogguss was too cute/pretty/sexy to have any musical substance before I heard her. I was wrong, wrong, wrong.

I feel lucky hearing songs this good done this right.

  • It is a shame on humanity that more people have to listen to whatever is on todays Top 40 and may never hear this incredible song.

Every time I hear a song this great - done this well - I feel lucky.

  • This is the BEST version of this song. I've heard Judy Collins sing it; I've heard Moe Bandy sing it (1982) and I've heard Kathy Barnes' version from 1976 and Suzy's version is simply the best. :)

  • Have this song on vinyl lp

  • Kenrew,

Surely the best of all the present Female Country singers. Great diction, phrasing and tone, make this the best rendition ever of this great Ian Tyson song.

  • Best version I've heard - since the oriiginal first came out. Suzy obviously has an inner feeling for this song.

  • Thanks for posting this song

  • I've heard the 1960s Judy Collins version, the 1982 Moe Bandy version and the 1976 Kathy Barnes version and I like Suzy's the best. :)

  • Kenrew,

Surely the best of all the American female Country singers. Great diction, phrasing, timing and wonderful tone to her voice.

    Brilliant!

  • Sooooo much better than Judy Collins version.

Of course, I'm not a Judy Collins fan anyway ......

  • Awesome performance of a wonderful song.

  • Kind of sounds like early Linda Ronstadt

  • @mpb1472 You should have heard her back when she was 22 yr old singing in the coffeehouses and clubs back in Peoria and Bloomington, Illinois where I first heard her and first met her. She was the sweetest and most charming girl you could imagine. Back then she sounded exactly like Linda Ronstadt except even better - if that makes sense. Her voice has only gotten more wonderful through the years. And she is still as pretty!!!

  • I saw Suzy live at Red Rocks in Denver last year.

What a voice. What a stage presence!

This song will always take me back to a better place and time.

  • Nobody, nobody, nobody - did I say NOBODY - does this song ANYWHERE close to as good as Suzy does it. I salute Ian Tyson for a great song and I love Judy Collins, BUT Suzy Bogguss should be given title to this song. It is hers and hers alone. I love it. There is no better voice in the world.

  • It is a Texas "norther." There is no "n" at the end of the word. A norther is a specific wind.

  • Thanks for posting. very good. never heard this version...

  • This is the hottest version of this Ian Tyson I have ever heard. Suzy Boguss is absolutely wonderful on this song.

  • @llibnorhcop Yes she is

  • Oh How I loved this song... and I miss hearing Suzy Boggus sing. Thanks for posting this Hillbilly

  • suzy is awesome i love some of her music!!!!

  • Watching Suzy do this live gives it yet another dimension -- she's intensely present and concentrated, but totally relaxed and natural at the same time. Really a beautiful, appealing talent. I hope she does a whole album of these great country classics.

  • this song is severely linked with "Judy Blue-eyes" but Suzy has such a strong, clear voice, she really does it right, doesn't she?

She does everything that way!!! No wonder Chet was in love with her!!

    Rick

  • "So blow you old blue northern" is one of my favorite country lyrics. She does a beautiful version of this great song. thanks for posting.

  • @bigbiscuit100

I like this song very much. Please tell me the meaning of "So blow you old blue northern" since I cannot understand it owing to my poor English ability. I am a Japanese.

  • @bigbiscuit100

I like this song very much. Please tell me the meaning of "So blow you old blue northern" since I cannot understand it owing to my poor English ability. I am a Japanese.

  • @fuji9539 It's a wind coming from the north.

  • Damn I said I will never do it again

but I would let u break my heart again

  • Great singer, lovely person too!

  • Identical arrangement to the Judy Collins version but none the worse for that..sublime

    Jim

  • I remember her and this song. Kind of like Waylon's wife.....

  • not a big fan of country ...but SHE IS COOL....and so is the song ..love it...

  • Wny do you have ruin it by saying you're not a fan of Country. Why cant you just let it be?

  • SUZY BOGGUSS IS HOT! like the song

    to.

  • Let's give Ian Tyson a little credit here. Suzy's hot and sings great, but if there wasn't a song to sing or at least something good enough to sing, she could sound like Foghorn Leghorn. An incredible voice with the right blend of melody and lyrics rolling off the notes...there's just nothing like it.

  • Ive loved suzy since i was 10 and always will i guess since im 27 now .. her and dwight were my first concert

  • Lovely song by a lovely lady

  • Just perfect. Thanks.

  • My all time favorite!

  • omg I love this song

  • I love this song, it gives me goosebumps

  • This is a great song and even greater is Suzy

  • You just can't find great country songs like this anymore. This has to be my favorite song by Suzy Bogguss. Thanks for posting this classic from the annals of country music.

  • ~BEAUTIFUL~

  • absolutely beautiful!! no. 1 in my book!

  • Oh! she just does A WONDERFUL JOB with this SONG!!

  • It doesn't get any better than this.

  • Me encanta esta cancion y me encanta la voz de Suzy Bogguss...PD:una gran fan del Country Music aqui en España..

  • i just love this song! and suzzie to boot!

  • Suzy Boggust seems to be my favourite female country singer these days - she's #1.

  • Great one, thanks for posting. I just thing Suzy Boggus was one of the best female singers ever especially compared to the artists today. What a pure sweet voice.
