2 finger bass lesson

Hello Marcus! I just got my Cort Action V bass. I know how to play it...I've tried a few sons, but what if I want to alternate my fingers fast? How do I do that without hitting the string above? I tried resting my fingers on that string but if I have to alternate fast, I can't prevent that string from vibrating. Can you help me? Greetings from romania! Andrei.

i have just noticed my fingers sometime double pick when i change strings.It's Sooooooooooooo annoying i play faster and pick twice with the same finger it so annoying a pain in the but.Help me.Like Feel good by gorilaz i double pick the hole Bass line man i need to pick properly

Is it possible to use your finger nails while picking? does it make it sound more like using a plectrum then?

@mrtamberineman123 There's a technique that Alexis Sklarevski uses that uses fingernails. Look him up. Also, there is the slap and pop technique. It doesn't sound necessarily like a plectrum, but it is a lot more percussive than the warm sound produced by your fingertips.

hey marcus i just started playing bass and i tried to get a smooth flow of notes but my notes just seem to have individual attacks instead of having a steady hum of the note im repeating, do you have any advice?

im a beginner at bass, but have experience with electric guitar so left hand isnt the problem.....found this video helpful..trying to get the 2 finger method down its frustrating because i can play what i want with a pick but i wont let myself do it..i want to do it with 2 fingers haha..eventually the speed / strength will come i guess

awesome video......I know this may sound noob but im a beginner and I dont know wether if to use a pick on my bass, finger it, or slap it...is there a bass guitar which I can do all 3?.or do I have to buy another 2......? just wondering

@OmarM945 I have a crappy Austin P bass, and it sounds decent to slap, finger, and pick it. As with a Fender J bass. Just about any bass will sound halfway decent to slapping, picking and fingering, depending on the type of strings you use. (Roundwound, stainless steel, etc.) There are all kinds of different string varieties that affect your sound A LOT more than the actual bass guitar does.

This is so weird for me to watch, because that's exactly how I pick, and yet I taught myself.

hey, great vids u got there, their really helpful. im kind of a beginner and when i try to do the two finger picking, its very choppy and laggy. in other words, its not very smooth. does this technique take time to learn and get use to? ur 3 finger video is really great too, i would like to learn that as well, but...u cant use 3 if u cant use two so yea. i just want to know if this whole alternate picking thing takes time. comment back please! i would love to see more "how to" vids from you.
