When I saw this film I never thought there were any boundaries afterward. Waits just made anything seem possible in a performance. This film was huge!

Check Tom Waits out in Rumblefish and Down By Law (and many other films he plays a cameo in). Maybe he has been homeless and drunk, but I think he plays at it worst luck - I'm of a generation that doesn't care what he does in his private life although I'd like to think he's okay. I remember I first heard this song as a teen when the glam metal band Bulletboys released a cover in the late 80's. Not knowing it was a cover at the time, I was amazed that they could go from "Smooth Up In Ya" to a song this good. Live and learn! thanks for posting Tom's superior version.
