  • Whoop tumbs up! Turn up the volume of the lead guitar dude :) It just sounds too good, and the sad part on the lead should wrap up the up tempo bass for a few secs there I think.

    But fucking awesome job!

  • excellent cover mate. one of the best smiths tunes in my opinion. keep up the good work!

  • Each household appliance

  • Wow great Job! 4 stars can you please post the tabs

  • Soy fan de The Smiths desde que tengo uso de memoria, Nunca había escuchado a alguien tocar una canción de The Smiths tan bien. Me gustaría saber qué opinaría Johnny Marr si escuchara esto. Felicidades desde México.

  • That was great. Bass sounds really good.

  • Awesome!!, the bass sounds freaking good.. jajaja and your tshirt of Mr. Sparkle jjeje

  • great! you make it look so easy!

    congratulations!!!!!

  • I like this better than the record--it sounds more vibrant, whereas the recording-at least on itunes--sounds to flat across. Good SHow!

Can you post/show the chords just after the Bm and F#m ? I found tab online but it is not how you play it...

  • This is interesting, many people here say this is the best of Daniel´s video. Although I find it great, my fav is There is a Light that never Goes Out! Superb!

  • johnny marr frekin licks guitars

  • Excellent; add some warbly chorusing to the guitar and it's nailed. Nice Job.

you just make jealous cause I suck as a bass player :(

  • f***ing ace!

  • definitely your best video...i love this song

  • Will there ever be music like this again?

  • ...No...:(

  • @luukiex Im thinking, Music like the smiths,no . It makes me sad the think music is dead. The smiths were are Beatles for sure. I have never heard a bad Smiths song, and I think I've heard most of them. There are some tracks that never got recorded Im sure. I often wish I could erase my mind, then hear the smiths again for the first time.

  • @augeight Johnny Marr & Morrissey each have had success in their respective solo carreers.

  • @luukiex im workin on it

  • @luukiex I damn hope so!

  • @luukiex Probably not

  • @luukiex How are you man.If youwant a great band of today check out The Rifles.

  • @luukiex probably not the smiths were gods and people should givem the credit the deserve

  • wonderful...that´s a pity there are no bands like this nowadays...

  • I really dont know how many times i've seen this video...

AWESOME PERFORMANCE. its a fender bass that he plays? what type? sounds wonderful

  • Looks like a P bass to me...

  • it's a Squier, i've seen the headstock in his other videos!

  • Great!!!

  • O que dizer sobre este cara? A musicalidade está presente em seu talento. É muito raro ver e ouvir alguém tocar tão bem THE SMITHS... BRAVÍSSIMO!!!

  • and when a train goes by it's such a sad sound,

la la, da dum, da de, da dum, da de diddle dum,

    it's such a... sad thing.

  • The P-Bass is so incredibly fat. Love that tone.

  • I'd like to drop my trousers to the queen, every sensible child, will know what this means!

  • ...the poor and the needy/are selfish and greedy on her terms....

  • ...And if the day came when I felt a

natural emotion, id get such a shock id probably jump in the ocean...

  • And when a train goes by

    It's such a sad sound

  • la la, da dum, da de, da dum, da de diddle dum,

    it's such a... sad thing.

  • What did you tune your guitar up to? If you could get back to me on that, that would be great.

  • awesome...

  • Speechless...

  • wow, i am Brazilian, i am here in Rio and i love The Smiths... I Bet this guy is a pro, he is very good. Congratulatins!!!!!

  • anybody know how old this guy is? He plays the smiths music perfectly.

  • this guy is fantastic. watch his other videos.. he is really talented

  • Hay Dan I love your work buddy...I would love Marr and Moz to get back together and do a stripped down album...just acoustic / semi acoustic and vocals of some of their great tunes

  • You are amazing with both bass and guitar! Are you playing the drum track as well?

  • really good!

  • Muito bom! :D

  • This is dead good :)

  • do you know how to play the piano? Id love for you to play Oscillate Wildly by The Smiths, its an instrumental song and its fabulous. PLEASEE!

  • Nice bass playing

  • I love Morrissey -- don't get me wrong -- but it's so beautiful to hear what all of the instrumentation sounds like underneath his voice. You do us a service, Mr. Earwicker!

  • woooow i use it as a karaoke its very good man i have some problems playing this right now but i'm kind of beginner

  • You're amazing at this!

I've been learning this song in my guitar lessons, hopefully I can get as good as you.

  • it seems like he adds extra notes into the song then when someone does a cover it sounds off

  • Great interpretation (spelhing)

It would be so cool to have instrumental versions of all smiths album. I sometimes listen to GP versions of the song just to hear Marr more. Take Girl Afraid for instance, its very hard to hear everything he plays in the studio version, but if you play the power tab version and play it yourself you appreciate it much more.

  • it sounds good:) ..but it is not the way Johnny plays it..

  • add in favorites!=) very very very cool!

  • great job!!! :)

  • god i love your les paul

    p90s rule

  • Back for my weekly fix. Nice work!

  • A pleasure to watch and listen. Very nice...

  • Great playing!

  • Nice, and a Smiths classic!

  • you make this one really funky- you can see that Johnny was in a really funky mood on this album with your interpretation.

  • Nice Job!

    California..

  • Excellent playing. Keep it up!!!

  • Ou daniel could you do me a favour?

Could you tell me the chords you used, they're so weird, but cool?

One of the best covers you've made!!

  • wow Andy did a GREAT job on that bassline...

  • BRAVO!

    I LOVED IT.

  • Demais!!!!!!!!vcs estao de parabens!nunca vi cover melhor dos smiths, aki no Brasil sao poucos!

    continuem assim!!!!!!

  • your a frickin one man band, thats pure talent you have, and carcass88888 KISS MY ASS you know nothing about music obviously, if u did you would give credit where its due,do you even own a guitar? have you still got the mothercare sticker on it lol

  • Good but No Johnny Marr - Keep Trying

  • ur a hater, give credit where it's due. This has it's own twist and sound. Too many idiots like u that can't appreciate someones hard wor and dedication. I bet u can't even touch this. MORON

  • I find myself constantly returning to this clip to listen to this piece---I don't like the original by The Smiths very much, but this is just incredibly catchy. Well done, sir!

  • this song is what made me want to get an axe with a couple less strings. and my duran duran obsession... i'd like to drop my trousers to the world..

  • foda muito bom!!!!

  • More worthwhile musical ideas in a single song than most bands can manage in a whole album. Thanks for this. Nice just to hear the music sometimes without the singing.

  • man you're GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :)

  • here in Argentina is the p90 is almost 30% more expensive than a Dimar. paf classic. Anyway Dan great job (I must say it again coz it's flawless) and answer me do you've got the tabs :) ?

  • Sorry, no tabs!

  • Your work is outstanding is there any tablature or partiture of this song for the guitar part? thank you and good job

  • Could you please post some instructions as to how to play the guitar for this song?

    Great job.

  • Fantastic job, mate. I noticed thats an epiphone les paul standard you are playing, but are you using the stock pickups, or did you put some new ones?

  • That guitar is an Epi Les Paul Goldtop with P90's, is not a standard LP, that pickup (P90) has a unique sound but it's too bloody expensive :P

  • It is? Epi still do this model and it's only 10 pounds more than their standard LP.

  • the best music smiths

  • that's probabbly my fav Smiths song, at least lyrically, you did an awesome job

wish I could play like you! :)

  • probably*

  • whoa dude..did you do this by ear or tabs? the guitar parts i mean...cause i cant find the guitar tabs anywhere..if you could send me a link or something to tabs cause id loooove to learn it :]

  • awesome, do you have a tab I could have please?

  • Absolutely fantastic playing. Give moz a call, he might fit you into his band.

  • Thats quality mate! I can appreciate how hard it is to mimic some of Marr's (and Rourke's) Smiths work because the guy is an absolute legend but from the vids I've seen of you, awesome job. Hats off.
