the guy in 300 is gerard butler! how do u not know who he is??? lol

in my opinion, butler is more of a badass built for action and comedy, whereas crowe has more depth and a flare for the dramatic, which tells me the character will have a intellectual side to him...kinda like gladiator...

i think this isnt sum kind of ordinary story retelling..from what i seen all historic movie recently try to depict a more "realistic" sense..and not like the old days where they try to fantasize about alot of the part of the story like romance and comedy..and hay its ridly scott and russel crowe..it may not be glamorous but hell..id watch it cuz i know its gonna atleast incite my mind with history,story telling, and fine acting.

I am the fan of 'The Gladiator' movie and of course Russell Crowe is a good actor that time. But, I have to admit, the role he plays in this film is not bad but I think the director should more think about Robin Hood's playrole or actor. They can do more better than this and they are far behind from the previous (Robin Hood)film. I cant judge it, but I've got terrible feeling about this film. Poor to Russell coz he might face a lots of bad comments in future. God bless him.

I am a megga Crow and Robin Hood fan i have not seen him in a bad movie he portrayed a British Navy captain in Master and Commander and pulled it off magnificent i think he will be an awesome Robin Hood being a 48 year old brit Robin hood was one of my boyhood heroes and i know the story well cant wait for the movie

Since did Robin hood become a templar in wearing a cross on his armor? I thought he stole from the poor and gave to the rich and he was a non-conformist to hierarchy power. tt was after he returned from the third cursade....their were like 8 crusades....but anyway how it goes is that he joined for the 3rd crusade for richard the lionheart, was defeated and captured thrown into prison, escaped retured to England to find his father and family killed and estate in ruins by the sheriff of noghtingham, and discoverd what he was doing to the townsfolk, then thats when the story you just said comes into play.

Richard wasn't defeated. He threw the Austrian flag from the ramparts at Acre, and so he was imprisoned by King Leopold on his return from the Holy Land. He was eventually killed in Northern France by a boy with a crossbow.

It would really be amazing to read and see the historical records and evidence the researches used to help them make this film. Maybe the researchers/directors gained access to unseen storys and medieval scrolls etc. Must be truly fascinating to read or have them translated. I hope this film reflects the real life `Robin Hood` cant wait to see it.

Okay! I will agree I really love Jonas Armstrong in the role of Robin Hood. He has more humor and funny moments! Kevin Costner you cannot beat that at all! But, this looks much more epic like Kingdom of Heaven. It probly will be rated R. We shall see come next Summer@
