I've always prefered Dark Elves to HIgh Elves, i just think they're so much cooler. But, unfortunately, i must admit that on the tabletop High Elves are better than the druchii, especially with unkillable Tyrion (1+ Armour, 4+ ward, Regen, Magic Resistance 2, immune to breath/ flaming attacks) and their Always Strike First, Martial Prowess and Valour of Ages.
@CurseoftheGarrett I would seriously love to agree with you, i've been collecting Dark ELves for over 6 years now and they're without a doubt my favourite army. But i still think that High Elves have a better army list - although since i've never actually played High Elves in a proper pitched battle, i suppose that you know better than me :D

High Elves look great on paper but they lack something. They dont have any Xfactors
The Dark Elves have plenty of them Assassin, Hydra, Black Guard, Cauldron of Blood.
Also the DE have alot better magic choices, when you combine these things all together, it make DE alot better and more versatile.
However now in 8th edition, the high elves, basically have hatred, because they have always stike first and usually a higher initiative lol BS

I think dark elves can take watever they want if they just want to, i mean they got black guards, witch elves, disciple of khaine that is one of the most OP classes in WAR and the sorcerrer that are one of the most OP classes too. They got all the best classes in the game in the dark elf race and the are riding on Cold Ones that actualy could eat anything if it was possible^^

Your talking of the online game In the board game their isnt a disipline of Khaine.The Bitch elves have low armour save with is bad and they are crasy(do what ever they want)The cold one locks awsome but suffers from stupidity(bad)
The sorcerrer is unreliable.The high elves have good armour saves, many elite units, DRAGONS and the most terrefying unit ever:The phoenix guard with the ward save of 4+.One unit of 15 of these guys killed 90 procents of my high elf army (inclueding 10 swordmasters.

According to the lore, elves did not choose Malekith because, even if he was the heir of the phoenix king, they though it was not time for war anymore as the daemons were now gone, but it was time for peace and thus the leader should be one with less lust for blood. Needless to say, Malekith actually saved many thousands of elves because their prince had abandoned them during heavy assault of orcs ^ ^ Was that an evil act from him, hmh? :P

Dark Elves became what they became, becouse of chaos corruption. And so, they actually are slaves to chaos gods.
Allthought this post is more then a year old, but if Druchi are so powerfull and cool... why haven't they taken Ulthuan, and instead got deafeted numerous times with their leader, the 'great' whitchking Malekith, being killed by Teclis? Well, allmost but the escape of the soul into another dimension(chaos one I guess) does not count as surviving.

I don't know if any of you have noticed, but the Dark Elves, unlike the Asur or Wood Elves, aren't a dying race. I don't know why that is but I think it's because the Druchii society is so unlike the other Elf-kin. In fact, the Druchii society requires a high birth rate just to keep up the tradition of Death Night, where the streets of Druchii cities are roamed by bands of Witch Elves who take young babies and offer them to Khaine as sacrifice. Go Malekith!

If what I heard is true, then Dark Elves will be pretty neat as well(though High Elf ASF is a pain)
Dark Elves are going to hate everyone, not just high elves and get stronger hatred vs high Elves.
And with the COB moving the 10 p witch Elves are going to get ward save of 5+ each(though it's a rumor, could be true)

A drow and a dark elf is exactly the same race. Because the real dark elves r the Drow. They r the same, tha main dofference is that Dark Elves have a pale skin because warhammer wanted to be different tha Dungeons and Dragons. Night elves r blizzards dark elves and they look more like the original dark elves. Drow r often called dark elves too and they r the original. Still they have the same legasy in fantasy games, the companies just change them in order not to look alike. Same legacy...

That's about it. Dark Elves live mostly above ground in frozen tundras. Drow live underground in caverns. Dark Elves are pale, Drow are dark. Oh, and Night Elves are even LESS like the Drow except that they have dark skin... Night Elves are actually good Elves, worshipping nature.

Do u know what is the word Drow? Drow means Dark Elf in old Scottish. And in Scottish folklore they lived underground. Night elves were called Dark Elves before they reached Darnassus when they were living in eastern kalimdor. Of course a completely ignorant like u is not supposed to know those things. Still in the elder scrolls world the Dark Elves were with a pale skin and then with a curse their skin changed colour, they became like drow. The Druchii is another category of Dark Elves idiot.

Dark Elves kick ass. My friend played dark elves but now he plays Empire i wish he'd play dark elves again just because they're awesome. Too bad their army book has so many flaws but they'll be revised in the summer so whenever that happens they might become a much stronger army.
