Love this game. Beat it like 4 times and I own at it now. Also, before judging it, play through it entirely. The graphics are way above average in wii graphics and you people are wrong that you can just swing the sword and you win because the sword fights get a lot harder in the last chapter and merely swinging the sword would kill you.
lol ima still buy this game cause it comes in a double game pack with dis game and no more heroes im mostley getting it for no more heroes cause its stupid not to get both when no more heroes alone cost the same as wit the two games but still hope i get some joy out of it

I actually enjoyed this game. Though I don't know if I would play it many many times, and I thought the multiplayer was kinda bad. I did like the actual storyline. Those are my thoughts anyway. It was different, and fun.
Red steel is atually an average game, the controls works fine, the graphics are way better than MOH:H2(which btw is a good game with teriffic controls ROCK SOLID FRAMERATE and N64 character animations and graphical appearance)

-Story, though kinda incredible at the start, develops well, and in the end, the whole thing with the girlfriend losses relevance
-Longevity, this game is in fact, very long: I have yet to see a Wii FPS with this many levels (in comparison, MoH:Vanguard lasts only 1 day)
I can't even remember which one it was, but there was a famous scene in one of the Indiana Jones movies where a guy tries to initiate a sword fight with Indy. In the original script they were to have this big sword fight all planned out but then Harrison Ford insisted that something like that would be stupid when he was already carrying a gun. So the big dramatic fight scene got changed into something humorous.
It's been a while since I've seen it but that's the jist.

Great review, even though I don't really argee with it. The story, I think, is really good, and unfolds and develops some real depth as you get passed the first levels. If Red Steel were a novel, it'd be my favourite.
The voice acting for minor characters is complete shite, and there dialogue doesn't help, but the main characters are spot on.
I noticed that you didn't play any of the futher levels in the game, and there where the game really shines.
I don't know why everyone hates this game, I like Red Steel 1 and 2, I thought they were both fun as hell :l

My verdict'd be a 7.1/10. Kinda hard to control at first, but kinda good. And, at times, generic.
Sequel's gonna be better. Improved graphics, ONLINE, better AI, and most importantly, better controls. And did I mention online?
