Toivonen did play as a striker last season. This season he's been playing on the midfield, behind Berg. Seems like a better player when playing as an attacking midfielder.

you have to remember that torres in his year prior to moving to anfield only scored 14 goals for athletico madrid. And received severe sceptisim for signing a lower prolific striker. This guy has the ability to score from outside the box, and his finishing is pretty good as well. He also has height and good heading ability so he will be invaluable for the many set pieces that have.

Liverpool have to sign this guy. I'm always concerned about watching compilations of players in the Dutch league, they can seem a lot better than they are. I hope I'm wrong. I'd rather him over Ricky Van Wolfswinkel, do The Sun really need any more punammunition with a name like that! But really Toivonen looks the business.

between these two games he scored a header in swedens training match against scottland. got lots of chances playing behind ibra, the first time they played together. they har amazing team work. this guy is good.
iv seen him grow increadably since euro u21 last summer. put him in a good team and LET HIM PLAY.. then, hes gonna go far. hope he can play with torres :)

you have to remember that torres in his year prior to moving to anfield only scored 14 goals for athletico madrid. And received severe sceptisim for signing a lower prolific striker. This guy has the ability to score from outside the box, and his finishing is pretty good as well. He also has height and good heading ability so he will be invaluable for the many set pieces that have.

This lad looks good, he is strong, good in the air and seems to have two good feet!! Let's hope Liverpool do get him. Apparently, Roy has had the lad watched and it seems he could be interested. Roy also seems to know the Scandinavian leagues well so I am sure he knows who is suitable for the Premiership.

@stenon2 he should, since he coached over 10 years in sweden and 3-4 in norway and also in denmark for a while. I think toivonen could be succes at anfield if roy let him play. and the fact that roy speaks fluent swedish is good for the communication between them.

Toivonen is more of a playmaker then a goalscorer. So if u need a back-up for Joe Cole, Toivonen would be the man. But as a striker he is no good.

First let me start of with a simple message to Ngog haters, the 21 year old has scored 4 goals in 3 matches(all vital). Now, Liverpool needs someone like Ola because our strike team is too small, We have Kuyt and Babel but they are playmakers more than they are true strikers. To at least break back into the top 4 if not challange for the EPL we need 4 true strikers and at the moment we only have two in Ngog and Torres. Ola Toivonen if you sign for LFC, YWNA.

And why 4 true striker!? u need only Torres, then Toivonen as sub and/or partner + N'gog or use Kuyt as forward.
I would rather say two quick wingers, they are far too predictable and static!
I know they have a low budget, so sign:
Toivonen, Ben Arfa, Dos Santos. (they don't have the money to buy established players and/or big names)
Liverpool should lose their patience in Babel soon and maybe Kuyt at least as a winger... (too slow as a winger bad in one on one)

Yes we need 4 true strikers and at the moment we have 2 - Torres and Kuyt. Just a shame the latter is deployed as a midfielder!

Certainly looks like a versatile forward. Really hope the deal goes ahead. Hodgson is making some decent signings with the limited budget, although I can't understand why he's splashed 2 mil on a second goalkeeper who's 28. And I hope Mascherano stays. I know 99% of Liverpool fans hate Benitez, and Masch wants to go to inter, but look at the Arsenal game, Masch gave his all despite the circumstances. Will be sad to see him go....

Benitez? i would say 60% thought his leaving was a very very sad day. At least you realize that the Brad Jones signing is about the dumbest signing that could be made tho. We have Cavalieri who is better, and a host of young keepers coming up. Couldnt be more confused as to why we need this third rate fella.

@eric29956 Ok, 99% was abit over the top. But alot of fans don't look on Benitez favourably due to the back room arguments he had with a few players, namely Benayoun. And the likes of Torres obviously didn't like him as much as fans thought. But yes, we've got Cavalieri, who doesn't get many games, but is a fantastic keeper. Hopefully Tiovonen will work well with Torres if we get him. I'd keep the extra cash for the January window.
