  • Cute cute cute! He looked kind of scared when grover hugged him

  • you can see evasive actions John John takes when he feels awkward. he leans away from grover then tries to re-direct the energy by pointing out the penny. he found the 'i love you' from grover awkward.

  • @Liteboyiam I don't think it was so much "awkward" as it was "surprised." The inflection of his voice in his questioning Grover after the "I love you" was him desiring "reassurance". Eluding to the penny was his way of dealing with not knowing how to say, "I love you" back. That does not mean JJ does not love the character, but rather, JJ realizes the animal is an inanimate object, thus unable to convey true, warm, humanly love. JJ's leaning away was more of an intellectual thinking process.my.02

  • @jasswildabeast no no no since grover loved him he was gettin' him to count his money -- just like a playa

  • @joecabot34599

Lol no it's not Gary Coleman. His real name is John Williams III. He was born in New York and he started appearing on sesame street at the age of 3, when his mum answered a casting for the show. John John was my favorite kid on sesame street growing up...Soo cute! :)

  • @retrorespect81 What people don't know is that John John went back to his real name, Samuel L. Jackson.

  • gary coleman?

  • John John:Grova?

    Grover:Yes?

    John John:You love me?

Grover:Yes I love you, John John.

    John John:YEAH! :D

    too cute :DDDDDDDDDDDD

  • It's more like he is afraid

  • John John is too cute. This is his early experience on bromance. LOL

  • I love Grover's facial expression when asked to count the penny. Genius.

  • why don't they do this anymore?

  • @onyxanya They couldn't. Kids these days have guns!

  • @onyxanya - You mean having the Muppets interact with untrained children? Well, when 'Barney & Friends' came out, 'Sesame Street' had to start fighting for ratings. As a result, in order to be just like Barney, they stopped featuring untrained children.

  • To me Sesame Strees was way better than Barney it had more characters and was more educational in my opinion.

  • @supergodzilla12 interesting - and too bad!!

  • & this precious baby grew up to be a beautiful Marine! I saw a "reunion" type show - it was wonderful!

  • man shows like this make me think about my child hood sesame street was a must see when i was a kid.

  • CUUUUTE!!!! "Count this penny"

  • Now i know why there are kidnappers, who wouldn't want to steal that

  • I've never got bored watching this old video of sesame street. Try it! you would love John John ^_^

    "Grover!...You love me!?!? "

  • DO YOU LOVE ME??!!!! Lol he's so cute

  • "You love me!?!?" lol he's so cute

  • John John looks confused when Grover says, "I love you." I guess his Daddy told him never to trust Blue People.

  • That little boy is so totally adorable. I can't believe that little boy is all grown up now. He's married now.

  • Jon Jon = Win Win

  • OMG do ya need babysitter BABY cause I'll snatch your cute self up! *SMOOCH*

  • OMG do ya need babysitter BABY cause I'll snatch your cute self up! *SMOOCH*

  • this is soo cute! i remember john john.

  • sooo cute

  • In the Sesame Street Unpaved book, they say John John is now an accountant in San Antonio, Texas, but that was published at least five years ago.

  • this is sooooooooooooooo cute and im 12!!

  • John John is sooooooo cool ;-)

  • i love how grover is all like "count this penny?" looks at the camera and shrugs. "ok.... one..."

  • you love me? WHAT?

  • LOL!

  • Thimoneus, according to the Sesame Street 40th Anniversary Celebration book that came out a few months ago, John John is now a married higher-ranking officer (I don't know military terminology at all and I don't want to make a mistake) with kids of his own who credits his days on the Street as his favorite memories.

  • Can anybody give us a "Where are they now?" on John John?

  • epic <3

  • haha, valerie rogers! i want my fat tuesday!

    or else....

  • this is the best video on youtube. john john is the man.

  • @infearandfaiith I wonder where John-John is now o' days...What year is this from?

  • @dslgunner1977 He's still kicking it in da hood! Spent 10 years in Attica for poppin' a cap in some honkey's ass with a micro-uzi!! YO-YO-YO!! Whasssssuppppp!!!?

  • @atomic3939 Hahaha....FOE RILL, ON DA STRENTH!!! NO-UM-SAYNE?

  • @dslgunner1977

Most of the John John scenes that are still well-known (because they were still popping up on the show even in the late 90s) are from 1972.

  • HFIUGYJSDFHUIGFYDSGJ8FHUGJ.

    i love this.

    it makes me smile.

    even on my worst days.

  • LOL 0:29

you really have to focus on Grover's face after he counted the penny saying "one .." really funny impression ..it make's me lmao !!

  • i know. it's so funny how they can make muppets so expressive.

  • welcome to the major problem between us.....

  • grover?

    U LOVE ME?!!!

    so cute

  • shot down

  • I meant to add: Grover took it like a pro. I'm sure he's fine. He'll get over it in maybe 10, 20 years.

  • omg i love this kid shout out 2 sesame street

  • omg lmao!!!

    Again!

  • why poor kid?

  • OMG Grover is totally rejected by this kid! You'd think John John, even for the sake of decorum, would say, 'I love you too, Grover". But no. Nothing. No wonder Grover has issues.

  • You think John John knows how to pronounce, spell, or comprehend the word "decorum" at that age? Maybe in a few months when he doesn't stare at people (they're new to look at) while picking his nose ('cause there's a booger in there) or ask why they look so funny (when they do) because his brain hasn't quite wrapped around the idea of being fake for the sake of 'decorum.'

  • he tells grover he loves him in another clip I think?

  • he so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttee

  • omg he's sooo cuteee

  • I have to agree.

I love Grovers face when he is asked to count the penny. Ok, I know it doesnt really change but it cracks me up everytime LOL!

  • The cuteness champ in these skits has to go between John John and Grover and the little girl Joey from the cookie monster kit. I can't yet decide.

  • Now THIS is what Sesame Street was like when I was younger- just a Muppet and a kid. No flashy animation or sound effects.

Goodness- John John must be in his mid 40s by now.... I'm gonna lie down now.

  • its sooo adorable!

  • john john is the man

  • "Count this penny!" WHAT?! He's makin it rain already at an early age.

  • sweetest vid ever on youtube or any other tube for that matter!!

  • Grover is very cool, but John John seems a bit embarrassed. That is why he veers off the subject of love, and onto the subject of money. A classic dodge from a deceptively smart kid.

  • he also pushes him away!

  • You're right! Just noticed it. John John is not one for the "up close and personal" Grover.

  • @goback3spaces Who are you Dr. Frick'n Phil?

  • you love me???? * errr ok*.... looks away *help me* hahahaha

  • i love you to john john hehe so adorable and what a fine man he grew up to be :)

  • who is he?

  • Lol John John is pushing Grover away when he is hugging him =P

  • one...........*grover stares into the camrea lens* XD! its so epic :')

  • Back up off me Grover and count this penny!

  • Grover... YOU LOVE ME?

    LMFAO

  • How adorable!

  • ONE.....just fascinating....

  • hahahahaha i just laughed so hard watching this it hurt.

  • Taken from "Sesame Street: Learning About Numbers".

  • haha! i don't think john john loves grover very much

  • amazing. im laughing and crying at once...

    one.... hahahah! d:')

  • I remember John John.

  • Where is John John now?

  • I was just looking at a book about Sesame Street and as of 1998 he was living in San Antonio.

  • ...and was either serving or had retired from the armed forces.

  • You can look him up on muppet.wikia, search for John Williams III and it gives a run down on his life since

  • :-)

  • one....

  • That is so cute!!!

  • LOL it's like he means to say, "ew, man. I dont swing that way.."

    XD

  • YOU LOVE MAY!

  • So cute! I love John-John. And Joey, she's cute.

  • how sweet....count to 1...thats easy

  • I LOVE how he looks around like "um, can someone help me please?" lol....

He sure knows how to get out of an awkward situation though, lol....

*what do I say? What can I do to get out of thi..... oh yeah!*

    "Count this penny." HA!

  • I think Grover was getting a bit too touchy-feely with John-John...see how he pulled away from him? Still, I think John-John was the cutest kid on Sesame Street ever!! ^_^

  • grovah. YOU LOVE ME?!

  • "I love you"...

    *gives 'wtf' look

  • You love me? ._.

    yes

    Gwova?

    DO YOU LOVE ME?!!??

    I love you john john

    YaH

  • coolest kid ever.

  • The full version of this sketch is also seen on Old School Volume 2.

  • grova...YOU LOVE ME?!

  • In the wonderful book, "Sesame Street Unpaved", they mention that John John grew up to be an accountant in San Antonio, Texas. I guess he got his start on SS. By the way, I think this was filmed in 1971.

  • i would like to know what year this and all the other videos are. would be nice if they put a year in the descriptions

  • Grover and John John sure do an excellent job counting that penny

  • So cute. I wonder how he look like now

  • I posted a video with an old John John

  • i am soo sorry my bros idiot freind put that this movie rock again im sorry

  • John John does a great job of changing the subject in order to avoid what could be an awkward situation. "You love me?"..."Count this penny". What skill! And, how amazingly cute.

  • lol

when grover says he loves him, John John is like moving away.

  • Out of all the children who interacted with Sesame Street Muppets, John John is probably the one who best sticks out in memory. And I think he has interacted with more of them than any other- five all together. What a kid!
