@DickHouseInc "Bare" with you? Would you like me to take my clothing off with you :P? Just kidding. Yea, durian is a fruit that's common in south east asia. It smells a little funky but tastes pretty good. The texture is a little gooey but it's not terrible.
the durian you are eating still looks kinda raw,, not fully ripe.. its best when its really soft like ice cream,, remove all the durian rap it up and put them in the freezer, and when u feel like on get it out and let it half defrost almost completely but still could and a bit icy, it is like ice cream and last alot longer,, and taste better...
Whenever I see a Durian ripped open like that, it reminds me of the scene in the movie "enemy mine" where the Drak has to have his stomach ripped open to get the baby Drak out.
i hear they are banned from most hotels due to the aroma but i would think it's something that ought to be sold on market stalls (as long as they don't harvest the heck out of them and theres plenty left for the (meagre existing number of) orangutans
but presently £19 a fruit is a little more expensive than i'd like to pay especially as i'm not clued up enough to know a ripe one from an unripe one. did gather though that a ripe one splits open automatically when ready
