I agree. I know a guy who's brother raped an 11 year old girl and plead guilty and is serving NO time. I also know of a guy who set a dog on fire and got 9.5 years (he had no other prior convictions, too.) Victim's families are not served well in the CJ system when it comes to sexual offenses...

There is another side to these stories. My son was falsely accused of sexual abuse yrs ago by an 8yr.old.She lived with 3 criminal uncles,prostituts drug addict mother/sister Ken was an easy scapegoat.The girl finaly told the truth, gave a deposition,writes letters begging forgivenss.She looked the victim my son looked guilty He was a lamb among wolves.He's still on the registry,His appeal denied. Most won't believe finally tells the truth. Too many Innocent men are scapegoats in these cases.

Excellent that the filthy swine is dead. If this was in Britain, the stupid authorities would be charging the father with manslaughter and he'd do doubt end up with a criminal record. That's how crazy it is in my country (England). You have very few rights in protecting your home and family. There again, I wouldn't want it to be like the US....I don't want to be allowed guns, but I would like to be able to protect my family...and if that meant killing a pervert, so be it.

My comment was meant to point out your use of this attempted sexual assault to place blame on what you seem to dislike about the media. You seem to think there's one major cause to this problem. I think the problem is much more complicated than just the media, and simply blaming "MTV" (or really, the media) is way too easy. But hey, everybody wants easy solutions, right?

IF....this guy was really inside someone's house, and if he was naked, and if he was near that guy's daughters bedroom....well....I have to try and put myself in that man's shoes and I think I can safely say, that the naked gentleman would no longer be among the living. But at the same time, I would also have the common sense to realize that this is not the norm for anybody, sex offender or not. Fact less than 4% of sex offenders that receive treatment reoffend. Law enforcement is only uncovering 5% of sex offenders. What about the other 90% of victims? Shouldnt we do something to help them? Make it easier for sex offenders and victims to get the help they need. Building yourself worth by looking down on the 5% that temporarily have had their rights taken away is just feeding the fire.
