@x1pyroveride it's obvious ofcourse: the light will be let through the little slit only being seen ony by people on the gound and can't be seen from the skies--> attracting hails of .50 cal and rockets from allied fighters.

The Willys was better than the Kubelwagen, 4 wheel vs 2, better clearance, easier maintenance. The Germans loved their captured Jeeps.

The Kübelwagen is undoubtedly better than the Willy's Jeep, but not by a whole lot. The Kübelwagen was just a much more smartly concieved piece of kit.

As for the ultimate offroad car of WW2, the Type 166 Schwimmwagen takes that prize :)

Honorable mentions go to the 4x4 Horch 108 Type 40 and 4x4 Steyr 1500A though.

@bellator11 only thing I'd have to say the Willy's might be better in, is getting in and out. Hopping in and out of the kubel is a little sketchier in full kit.

Well,I watched both Videos,the one with the kübelwagen and the one with the Jeep Willy....and I can say that the VW did much easier than the Jeep Willy.....

I am building one of these and idd, they are so basic but so GOOD. They will get you anywhere, trough anything. And to reply, there was a 4wd kubelwagen, just like the 166 swim, but i've never seen one before.

Kubelwagen doesn't have 4 wheel drive like willy's but the kubelwagen is cheaper and faster to produce and is a little faster, and also lighter.
