@techrepairTV - Hello there. I would recommend the Compact v2. It offers like new results at the touch of a button and costs just £300 plus VAT new and £195 plus VAT reconditioned both including shipping. Please call us on 01202 489 500 to discuss. Thank you.
omg.. call me OCD.. but your supose to wipe the disc from the inside ring towards the edge going around the disc.. NOT wipe in circles.. gwah.. nOObs!
@RavenDragonfire Thanks for your comment. People often say that it is best to wipe from the centre outwards, but the main thing is to minimise contact between cloth and disc. The CD spray dilutes the polish compound left after a repair and helps in its removal. You’ll notice the operator takes a couple of big wipes, then finishes buffing with another part of the cloth. He’s using one of our special non-abrasive cloths which are the best on the market and don’t cause scratches.
@Zombieflyman550 - If you are in the UK they are £845 ex VAT new, though we do often have a few reconditioned machines available from £500 upward. Search for Total Disc Repair.
I recently returned a similar machine (from another company) due to a few issues with it, and hope that this machine does not suffer from the same issues...
Does this machine (or the Compact V.2 for example) interfere with digital TV signals?
Does the machine (or the Compact V.2 for example) leave 'buffing-marks' (signs that it was repaired) that are visible?
@djdom1uk - Hello. I can confirm that every TDR machine leaves the disc in an as-new condition and will not cause any interference with a digital TV signal. Thanks.
@darkrai786 - If it’s just a minor crack around the centre hole of the disc – usually caused when putting the disc in and out of the case - then this shouldn’t affect playing, but anywhere else on the disc (i.e. the playing surface) and I'm afraid there’s nothing that can be done.
@lukejas2008 Yes, but you need to purchase a separate adapter, available as a Disc-Go-Devil Part on our website totaldiscrepair .co .uk - click 'Parts' - then the 'Disc-Go-Devil' box...
For anyone interested, there are a couple of reconditioned ones on ebay right now - just search for seller: TDR-Clearance. Price is just £600 and comes with a 6 month warranty. Bargain!
@GhibliFan1 type PlayLikeNew into google, click the Centre Finder tab and enter your postcode to display a list of nearby places that offer a disc repair service. Good luck!
Thanks. I already discovered that my local Blockbusters had this exact Disc Go Devil machine and they've repaired it literally like new. I'm very happy with it. Just out of interest, what is this industry going to do about Blu-ray? I've heard that new machines work in microns, but as the data layer is so close... can they actually BE saved?
@GhibliFan1 Hey - pleased to hear you're happy with the repair! The lastest Total Disc Repair machines can indeed repair Blu-ray discs, but as you point out, there is much less plastic to play with on the Blu-ray format. This means the number of times you can fix the same Blu-ray discs falls to 10-15 (still plenty of times!), compared with nearer 100 on all other formats.
not if the disc contains your only copy of your wedding photos/holiday snaps! but more seriously, the machines are purchased by companies to repair their own stock and to offer a repair service to the public. The cost of the machine is paid for in months, if not weeks.
Most people charge a couple of pounds per disc (with discounts available on more discs). The machine itself is £895 plus VAT; there are also other, less expensive machines on our website too!
I've seen other machines that really clean the scratches of the disc, but they leave a different mark, like a spiral you can see in light sources like lamps... does this machine cleans the disc 100% without any other mark? Wet process, right?
No machine will restore a disc 100% to how it looked when it was first produced, but this machine will make it virtually new again.
You may be able to see extremely faint processing marks if you hold a repaired disc under harsh lighting, but nothing that would prevent the disc from playing or that would look aesthetically bad.
Yes - it is a wet process, but doesn't require water - liquid polish performs the repair and also acts as a coolant to prevent damage to the disc. Hope this helps.
the machine will remove blemishes such as fingerprints, fizzy drinks etc - but what it's really good at is removing scratches. This machine will remove pretty much any scratch (including "laser burns") no matter how deep - and leave it looking and playing like new again.
The machine will not damage discs the process is safe and does not affect the data held on the disc. It sounds like the disc was not processed for long enough - perhaps take it back and ask them to try again? The success rate in repairing discs is almost 100%, so its likely that another go will fix it for you.
If there is no visible damage to the disc, then it's a bit of a strange one - it's possible that your disc falls into the 0.01% category and is irrepairable. Please feel free to post it to us if you would like our expert opinion - i have just messaged you our company address.
The machine is £895 plus VAT. We also distribute a range of other machines, which can be found on our homepage. Companies that use our machines to offer a repair service charge just a couple of pounds per disc.
