Im a huge NOES fan and I did enjoy this movie because of how accurate it was to the original story.. I did dislike his makeup though, his nose and eyes pissed me off the whole film..
the best part of the movie was when freddy said the human brain works for 8 minutes after the heart stops,so we have 6 more minutes to play,or when he says why are you crying,i havent even cut you yet

Robert Englund was fantastic as Freddy Kruger. All Nightmare fans know that. But he doesn't want to do it anymore. And he himself approves of the remake and Jackie taking over the role. He is a great actor, Academy Award Nominated in fact. Check him out in Little Children and Watchmen if you still doubt me (and Englund). If you still don't like it after seeing it that's fine, but don't take it as an attack on the 1st
Actually it's a reimagining: Same story and characters, different actors, atmosphere, movie.
And It's going to be great. Jackie's going to make a great Freddy. Nothing's changed for the true fans like myself. We'll always have the classic Nightmares. This new one is not replacing it, it's an addition to thecollection. Just be happy Freddy isn't fading into oblivion. Who knoes, this movie with it's bigger budget and scarier Freddy might bring in a whole new generatin of fans! Here's hoping!

i think he could have played a interesting adaptation to the freddy character....however, the preview i saw was ruined the second he was shown in makeup and talking. perhaps im wrong, but it looked like a bad mask with a screwy voice. perhaps thats a more realistic view of a persons face melting down/off. but this is also a fantasy movie, if the makeup and voice is the way i saw. i dont think the movie would be taken too seriously.

Yeah Jackie Earle Haley said that in order to create his Freddy Krueger he studied Nosferatu movements which has be one most creepyist films ever made. Jackie said they were going for a darker Freddy like Freddy in first film. I am sure that Jackie Earl Haley will make an amazing Freddy I can't wait to see the remake.
Jackie Earle Haley is an great actor and will do amazing job at playing Freddy. Jackie will allow new horror fans to discover Freddy. Well did you know that director of The Texas Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake was music video director before he did that film too. But Samuel Bayer is an even more famous music video director then Marcus Nispel. Samuel Bayer did videos for The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Smashing Pumpkins, Greenday,Metallica, Nirvana and he won them all awards which is pretty amazing he made the top ten lists of best music videos ever made many times. He even made the classic Blind Mellon No Rain music video.
He also made videos for Marilyn Manson and Blink 182 Stay Together For The Kids and even Sheryl Crow My Favourite Mistake. Samuel Bayer is true artist hes won awards for music videos and 90's and even now so i'm glad hes the director his visual style is raw and dark much like Wes Cravens. His music video for Zombie by The Cranberries is very haunting so is Bullet Had Butterfly Wings which think was perfect to remake the film. Theres a real dark feeling dark emotion that comes across in his work.
Replacing Robert as Freddy is like replacing Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky. Doug Bradley as Pinhead, Tony Todd as Candyman, Warwick Davis as Leprechaun, Angus Scrimm as the Tall Man(Phanstasm), Bruce Campbell as Ash(Evil Dead), Jeffrey Combs as Herbert West(Re-Animator). The first movie was too good that in the first place shouldn't be remade. It doesn't matter if Jackie is a good actor or if Robert himself is happy for him for getting the part. Dracula is a movie thats been remade many times and now Freddy is just as iconic as Dracula and that film has been remade many times and has made dozens of classics.
Take example Bela Lugosi played Dracula in 1931 and Gary Oldman did in 1992 both classic films. Or another example Nosferatu another a total remake of Dracula novel made into a 1922 film a pure classic you see films can be remade and they can be classics.
Your missing the point the whole point is not remake Freddy but allow a whole new generation of horror fans to see Freddy. All there doing is bring back everything we loved about character and allowing new storys to be told. Jackie wants bring back Freddy the way we enjoyed him and Samuel Bayer wants bring back the darkness of Freddy to what we all enjoy if anything they are respecting the films by allowing new storys to be told the way they should be.
I was so pumped to see that Jackie got the role of Freddy. He's a great guy and a great actor. It's cool to see someone as nice as he is in real life act out the part of Rorschach in Watchmen, and it's going to be even more interesting to see him as Freddy Krueger. Because lets face it, Jackie as Freddy is going to be one evil mother fucker.

Robert Englund was fantastic as Freddy Kruger. All Nightmare fans know that. But he doesn't want to do it anymore. And he himself approves of the remake and Jackie taking over the role. He is a great actor, Academy Award Nominated in fact. Check him out in Little Children and Watchmen if you still doubt me (and Englund). If you still don't like it after seeing it that's fine, but don't take it as an attack on the 1st

Actually it's a reimagining: Same story and characters, different actors, atmosphere, movie.
And It's going to be great. Jackie's going to make a great Freddy. Nothing's changed for the true fans like myself. We'll always have the classic Nightmares. This new one is not replacing it, it's an addition to thecollection. Just be happy Freddy isn't fading into oblivion. Who knoes, this movie with it's bigger budget and scarier Freddy might bring in a whole new generatin of fans! Here's hoping!

you can't remake a masterpiece, nobody can be a better freddy than Englund so why try to remake it? sounds like a bad idea to me. if they're gonna make another Nightmare movie it should just be a sequel to Freddy v. Jason, cause they clearly show at the end that Freddy isn't really dead leaving a perfect opening to make a sequel. not a F v J sequel but a Nightmare sequel to FvJ.

i think he could have played a interesting adaptation to the freddy character....however, the preview i saw was ruined the second he was shown in makeup and talking. perhaps im wrong, but it looked like a bad mask with a screwy voice. perhaps thats a more realistic view of a persons face melting down/off. but this is also a fantasy movie, if the makeup and voice is the way i saw. i dont think the movie would be taken too seriously.

Yeah Jackie Earle Haley said that in order to create his Freddy Krueger he studied Nosferatu movements which has be one most creepyist films ever made. Jackie said they were going for a darker Freddy like Freddy in first film. I am sure that Jackie Earl Haley will make an amazing Freddy I can't wait to see the remake.

Well did you know that director of The Texas Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake was music video director before he did that film too. But Samuel Bayer is an even more famous music video director then Marcus Nispel. Samuel Bayer did videos for The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Smashing Pumpkins, Greenday,Metallica, Nirvana and he won them all awards which is pretty amazing he made the top ten lists of best music videos ever made many times. He even made the classic Blind Mellon No Rain music video.

Samuel Bayer is true artist hes won awards for music videos and 90's and even now so i'm glad hes the director his visual style is raw and dark much like Wes Cravens. His music video for Zombie by The Cranberries is very haunting so is Bullet Had Butterfly Wings which think was perfect to remake the film. Theres a real dark feeling dark emotion that comes across in his work.

Replacing Robert as Freddy is like replacing Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky. Doug Bradley as Pinhead, Tony Todd as Candyman, Warwick Davis as Leprechaun, Angus Scrimm as the Tall Man(Phanstasm), Bruce Campbell as Ash(Evil Dead), Jeffrey Combs as Herbert West(Re-Animator). Your missing the point the whole point is not remake Freddy but allow a whole new generation of horror fans to see Freddy. All there doing is bring back everything we loved about character and allowing new storys to be told.
