There's something kind of disturbing about the amount of negative activity this short movie is getting. It's kind of like a bunch of bullies who don't like another kid and are waiting for that kid to make the kind of mistake that would warrant a pounding. The movie is flawed, but it's not terrible. Any amateur effort is going to have its rough edges, but you can't judge it up against highly paid professionals. There's a big difference between little league and pro baseball.

This video is too long for a short film! There is no action for 4 min. Bad filming, Poor audio, Acting was pretty good. But come one, your a film critic, you should know how these things work, man!
This is an interesting idea but I think that it would have worked better if we, the audience, had followed the "interrogator" instead because, in my personal opinion, everything that was said when Tom's character was alone kind of falls apart after the reveal. I liked the majority of the cinematography though, but did also feel that the editing could use some work.
By the way, glad to see that someone is still enjoying Duck Hunt.

Ok just a quick critique, and I hope you see this. With the twist at the end, it doesn't really make sense why there would be times when the victim was walking around acting clueless when he really knew what he was doing. And in that way, the movie should have focused on the interrogator instead of the victim. If the movie was told from the interrogator's perspective, then the victim would have been shrouded in mystery and the final reveal with the twist would have had more of an impact.
I'm not a troll, just wanna give some constructive criticism. I like the tension you added with the use of cursing & I think you have a cool style. But you should work a little harder with you're scripts, so much dialogue here is so unrealistic. And the ending? Kinda poor. You have a really strange way of revealing your twists, & you did it in a way where it confused the audience. Also, some of the editing was kinda bad & your acting was a little overboard at points. Just my opinion, don't hate.
I'm happy to see you doing what you love to do! It takes a lot of courage to put this film out there. @SteveTeebo I shall for you.....SPOILERS****************** Everyone has now been warned. The ending reveals that I am in fact running things and am NOT the victim as I was pretending to be. My character was testing out recruits for an unknown program and was testing each interrogator's questioning skills to see how effective they would be in the field. The interrogator, played by my friend, failed so my character killed him off. At the end, I asked for the next recruit to be sent in.
"Come on, not the balls again..." Loved that line. You and your friend had a lot of charisma in this movie, I'm very impressed. I like the style of this movie, real fast and hard, Dare I say a little ballsy? Great job Tom, each short film of your has consistently improved along the way. Looking forward to more!
To be honest it's not terrible but it's not good at all. The writing is bad and the camera work is awful. The acting was ok, Tom you were fine but your friend was terrible.
I don't understand why some people are bashing this short film. It's quite good to be honest. It starts out fast and puts you right into the action. The acting was pretty good and I can tell everybody was trying their best. Also, I really liked the twist in the end. My only flaws would be the video/audio quality and some of the camera shots were hit or miss. But don't be so negative. Tom looked like he had fun with the movie and at least he had the dedication to make a film in the first place.

Ok just a quick critique, and I hope you see this. With the twist at the end, it doesn't really make sense why there would be times when the victim was walking around acting clueless when he really knew what he was doing. And in that way, the movie should have focused on the interrogator instead of the victim. If the movie was told from the interrogator's perspective, then the victim would have been shrouded in mystery and the final reveal with the twist would have had more of an impact.

I'm not a troll, just wanna give some constructive criticism. I like the tension you added with the use of cursing & I think you have a cool style. But you should work a little harder with you're scripts, so much dialogue here is so unrealistic. And the ending? Kinda poor. You have a really strange way of revealing your twists, & you did it in a way where it confused the audience. Also, some of the editing was kinda bad & your acting was a little overboard at points. Just my opinion, don't hate.

I'm happy to see you doing what you love to do! It takes a lot of courage to put this film out there. I give you credit for taking people's criticizims, and hatefullness on the chin, and brushing it off, and even responding back to these individuals. You did it with class, Sir. I applaud you for that!

great job tom! i dont get whats with all the haters this was a really good short film. you did a great job. i thought the script could be pretty chessy thou at times yet not to bad. and i actually did like the way it has a shaky cam type feel. i personaly think it had some flaws but thats just my opinion. and you have some talent it was intresting and you got me hooked. but thats just myy opinion and dont listen to the haters great job and id love to see more short films coming!

@SteveTeebo I shall for you.....SPOILERS****************** Everyone has now been warned. The ending reveals that I am in fact running things and am NOT the victim as I was pretending to be. My character was testing out recruits for an unknown program and was testing each interrogator's questioning skills to see how effective they would be in the field. The interrogator, played by my friend, failed so my character killed him off. At the end, I asked for the next recruit to be sent in.

I don't understand why some people are bashing this short film. It's quite good to be honest. It starts out fast and puts you right into the action. The acting was pretty good and I can tell everybody was trying their best. Also, I really liked the twist in the end. My only flaws would be the video/audio quality and some of the camera shots were hit or miss. But don't be so negative. Tom looked like he had fun with the movie and at least he had the dedication to make a film in the first place.

Since you like to critique movies, allow me to critique yours. This is just my opinion. I thought u put some good work into this and there was some decent acting. I thought the camera always moving into circles was annoying and wasn't necessary. The dialogue dragged on and became kinda boring. I didn't really sense any real suspense. Too many F-bombs. Obv, this is just a amateur youtube video and no one really expects Tarantino-level quality, but overall, good job. Keep at it.

@TheAmericanPatriotQ Well, a good short can't exactly be made for free. Me being a short filmmaker, I know they require certain costs. Yes, not every idea is super expensive, but Tom didn't have every single resource available to him, and he did well with what resources he did have. Plus, if you wanted to call me out on that, you could've done it without calling me an asskisser and continuing to insult me and my opinions.

@TheAmericanPatriotQ I guess I can understand that, but I'm not being a suckup, I really did enjoy the short, especially with what Tom had to work with. But please don't bash a person's opinion. If someone told me they adored my least favorite movie, I wouldn't beat them in the head. It's their opinion, and even if I highly disagree, it's still their opinion, and it doesn't make them a bad person.

@TheAmericanPatriotQ OK so I didnt say that ONE detail in my 1st post, but I never said the short was flawless. I said that for what he had to work with, he did a very good job. You may not know this, but making short films is harder than you think. You can only do so much with a camera that's available to average, everyday people like Tom and not some big studio director, and he did wonders with what he had. I'm getting really sick of arguing with you, troll.

@TheAmericanPatriotQ I can tell by your previous comment that you're not someone I should take seriously but I'm not being an asskisser if I didn't like the short I would've been honest and said I didn't and why in a polite and non-trollish manner, unlike a lot of people commenting here. Yes, some of the camera work was meh, but I understand that when you have a standard camera, you can't do stuff w/ the camera that would put Spielberg to shame. Making a short film is harder than it looks.

as for your film..could it have been sharper?? yes....but the concept of it i thought was interesting..the camera work wasnt too shabby..and you're not a bad actor at all (despite what some assholes say and considering you're not primarily a filmmaker/actor on youtube)...for future projects write a script and really stick to it as much as you can to avoid awkward pauses or "too much" swearing...but i thought you did a good job with the resources you had..keep doing what you love..fuck the haters

@TomChatalbash exactly..first and foremost you're making short films because you enjoy them..and there is nothing more fun than the process of actually filming a short film (which nobody really gets to see except for the people involved)...btw if you needs tips, feel free to message me..im not the greatest filmmaker or anything..but i can give you basic tips to help improve slightly with audio inconsistencies and what not..very easy and it'll make the audio 100x better!
