  • not a bad word to say about michel

  • fuuuuuuck

  • Years ago when i was starting as a chef i was trying to get advice from good chefs as to where i should try and train and this guy was the only one who took the time to talk to me nice chap.

  • dont diss michel

  • The place isn't dead, my friend. They filmed this during the off peak hours as any business would do...

  • does he use la font?

  • is it a 3 star??

  • @vicechef It's two star at the moment, was three star with his father albert and uncle michel (yea albert named his son after his brother). There is a fine line between two and three stars though. The front of the house could be keeping him from obtaining three stars

  • @vicechef The informational is very misleading about Le Gavroche, hasn't been 3 stars for nearly 20 years. I don't think Roux JR done anything wrong it was just that other chefs had up'd their game and were producing a higher level of cooking in the eye of the Michelin judges (Marco Perrie White spring to mind, the guy was untouchable at the time) and Roux is quoted as saying he didn't want to change and down that route.

  • i guess marco pierre white is the son that albert roux never had

  • what a sell out...no surprise as he is NO chef in the trade...not earned his colours and cannot work the stove. go suck daddy off and do us all a favour

  • @etclarke He's a sellout because he is endorsing a product he uses and approves of? What chef doesn't? Don't be such a snob. He's probably twice the chef you are.

  • @ianman6 Let's face it, even if etclarke has a Michelin star, Michel Roux Jr. is still twice the chef he/she is :p

  • seems he doesnt really like lafont.....

  • 7 minutes & 37 seconds of advertising - loada bullshit.

  • i take it he can cook

  • 'ROUX' - what an apt name for this family!

  • Call me crazy but I have a feeling Michel likes Lafont cookware...

  • does anyone know where the name gavroche comes from/what it means?

  • Gavroche is a character in the Victor Hugo novel 'Les Miserable' (also the musical adaptation of the same name). He is a street urchin who fights with the resistance. The restaurant Le Gavroche is named after this character and a painting of the boy hangs in the dining room. Michel Roux junior describes the character as a boy who is hungry and looking for somewhere warm where he can get a meal - thus the philosophy of the restaurant.

  • thanks for that steve

  • I didn' realise they fed so many street urchins at La Gavroche.

  • Chef!!!
