make sure to pump the gun one time before you put it up. this prevents the seal from drying out and causing leaking. you also need to try crossman premium hollow point pellets from wal mart. they are also great pellets
jus got one from a guy who found it in a trash can. he aint want it & i aint either bc i thot it was broke so i said fuck it & took it home to clean. well im amazed. the dam thang is powerful & accurate. its scary. it also can shoot 3 round burst (or more but prefer 3 rnds) acurately on target with penetration power non like normal bb guns wich jus lob the bbs out if more than one is chambered. i jus gota say it took an idiot to throw this away bc i luv it...its armor piercing too
@Mightylite94 it has more power than one would think. it went through a steel part off my car, though not considered armor piercing, it still went through. it also does shoot 3 rnd bursts, if you load 3 pellets instead of one, it shoots all 3 accurately with alot of power. you could load more than 3 (probably 30), but the power & accuracy make it useless. thats why if i load a burst, i put in 2 pellets. try one & you will see. ps this my other profile
@Mightylite94 shut up, i know it. stop bein so technical & loosen up sumtime. & technically it is a 3 round burst because it shoots 3 rounds with one pull of the trigger. fuckin 90's baby, take yo ass else where bc i hate yal as it is..
@Mightylite94 it has more power than one would think. it went through a steel part off my car, though not considered armor piercing, it still went through. thats with lead, imagine with steel pellets. it also does shoot 3 rnd bursts, if you load 3 pellets instead of one, it shoots all 3 accurately with alot of power. you could load more than 3 (probably 30), but the power & accuracy make it useless. thats why if i load a burst, i put in 2 pellets. try one & you will see. ps this my other profile

Benjamin 397, arguably the best pump airgun, I own 1 and I could say i've killed over 500 starlings with it. My only complaint is it's hard to pump with a scope on it, you get a lot less leverage.
personally i like daisy ones there the most pointest pellets i can find. they get prettty good range two o have a remmington somthing another and i pump it up lyk 20 times i can get about 40 to 50 yards no sweat
I don't know if you know alot of Multi Pump Air Rifles, but if you do then can you answer this question. Do I need to pump 8 times between EACH shot that I do with this Air Rifle or do I just pump 8 times and shoot like 10 shots or something?
shoot groups of 3 or more from each pellet , without correcting pellet placement pick the pellet that groups best , sight in rifle with that pellet ;) you will hit 10's all day long
Ya Daisy pellets are made out of way to soft lead but beleive it or not I use them in my Crosman Storm XT break barrel to plink and can hit soup cans at 12 yards with them. There the cheapest pellet on the market at 2 dollars a tin and perform well for the price. I personally like Crosman, Gamo, and Beeman pellets the best though. I put a Crosman pointed pellet through the middle of a soda can from around 100 feet with open sights with my break barrel.
because the wd40 is like super thin oil. It will losen the contact between where it's soposed to seal and will then cause an airleak because of the high pressure. Then the air will leak through. Know what i mean?
i understand. i had a problem with a daisy 880 that after a few weeks didnt hold air, but it was a progressive leak over the course of 5 days it got from were i didnt notice it to not holding any. it has "oil here" stamped on the diecast shell on the pump arm chamber and i knew how to oil and take care of guns so i oiled there. i used Rem Oil wich is, what i think, a medium weight oil. i did that from day one and oiled there every 50-60 shots. could i have caused the leak?
You might have oiled the wrong parts. Did it say oil the pump or the lever or moving parts on the pump. You don't need to oil your gun that often. Maybe every 400 to 500 shots. If you oiled the actual pump cylinder im almost positive thats what has caused the air leak.
It meant the cilinder. I use just a drop to keep the rubber pistons in shape. I have 4 880's and the other 3 are just fine and older. Lol I guess I'm a clean freak when it comes to guns. I will disassemble it and whipe every thing down and see what happens.
Yeah im pretty sure you oiled the seals to much or the cylinder and it has caused the seals to loose there connection or seal. Causing it not to pump up any air. Yeah just wipe everything down really good and let the gun sit for a while.
there is no plastic in a benjamin and if your gun shoots to fast the pellert will wobble and not be as accurate. and i bet you feel like a big boy for owning something "built like a REAL gun" you fucking noob!
sorry dude but i highly doubt that a two year old knows how to shoot or type i am really 16 u bitch and i just the penny's form 50 yards or 100 yards and i would kick your ass any time
if you practice with these you can pump it eight times and still be faster than someone with a break barrel. i have a 347 that is over 30 years old and is still one of the finest air rifles i have ever shot, i also have this rifle but with peep sights
It is a GREAT rifle!I have sent approximately 3000-4000 rounds through mine, & I know if I have a decent pellet loaded, & can see the target,it's dead on! The only problem I have had so far is it has started to leak air.I think a plastic seal of in the rifle has just become dirty or worn out over time.Even with the leaking, if you don't wait for the chamber to leak out too much it still hits on target!I represented my state on a national rifle team this year, so I'm serious when I say it's ON!
can you buy this gun in england

The beauty of this rifle is being able to choose how much power you want by the amount of pumps.
Two to three pumps for backyard shooting and six to eight pumps for hunting.
This air rifle is no toy, it could kill a human.
I've got 22 cal 392 Ben. on order.

accutally if you use real oil in you gun and not silicone oil the compressed air build up can cause a deisling effect and explode
leppy5 3 years ago
What do you mean real oil. Diesling is when more then enough oil gets in the air resevoir and it ignites with the high pressure.
cooldud11122 3 years ago
i think when he says real oil he means like oil you would up in a car?
