I've actually only just recently played both Portal 1 & 2, and I agree that there is some amazing writing in there. The same can be said of System Shock 2.

Although these two games are extremely funny/scary, I couldn't really find much personal meaning in the quotes, which is what this top 10 was supposed to be about.

I was so pleased to witness Metal Gear Solid on here, but I find the most inspirational, and touching quotes, come from Snake, Otacon and Meryl. Particularly when Otacon in MGS 2 speaks about love, and how you have to find it, not wait for it. And how Snake breaks under the pressure, after everything he went through during the Shadow Moses incident. My childhood is based upon the series, and it moves me every time I play those games.

True that... I loved system shock 2. It had great writing and voice acting, especially when you could hear how the people's minds were progressively taken over by The Many. At first it was "hmm, i feel strangely protective to them".. a few logs later it was "the many sings to us"

The one from Torment is great... Such an awesome game. Gave me goosebumps just to rewatch the ending. Same goes for Deus Ex. The other ones I'm a little bit unsure of, but they seemed fairly good, if not as impressive. Something from the Baldur's Gate games would've been nice, though, especially since you used a picture from BG2 in the beginning. Maybe something off Irenicus' "Life is strength"-monologue?

Ah, well, originality is one of the weaknesses of the BG games, especially the first one. BG2 is a little better in that aspect, IMO, and some of the conversations are brilliant, both in dialogue and voice-acting.

I'm a little out-dated on DX3 news, so, chances are I haven't seen the latest trailer. Can't say that what I've heard about it really sparked my interest this far, though...
