Richie Johnson, the original bass, has a very successful oldies band in Cincy called Richie and the Students. Unfortunately there is no falsetto in the group.

Someone needs to put the original Students in the Doo Wop Hall of Fame.

Per the Students... the lady's name was Kathy Cornelious (sp.). She had to leave the group for personal reasons. What a tragedy, what a voice!

I would guess that she did many other songs with the Students back in '94. I'm not aware of any that have posted though? Let me know if you find any! Of all the covers, Heartches and K.K. included, this lady embodies the heart and soul most like the one and only "Leroy King." I heard Leroy sing at more than one venue (including the HS bathroom between classes with the Students) and in my humble opinion the Students were one of the greatest acts of the era!!!!

You'd be wrong. This is Richie Johnson, the original bass singer of The Students.

He has been singing as "Richie and the Students" for years. The Students have changed but Richie hasn't.

This is an old video and I guess this woman was singing with Richie at the time. I don't know who she is. She doesn't sing with TheStudentsanymore.

Leroy had such a gifted voice! But I guess he lose part of that magnificient pitch when he grew up. At least is very nice to be able to watch a live with a voice than can do that high scales :-)
