  • I live in a liberal area in the midwest This so funny because I'm American and I was just thinking "I want to hear a brit talk because I'm more curious then usual right now" then I came across this video. I would so trade places with you if that were possible! In my area, there is freezing rain one day, snows the next, then we have a heat wave the week after. I really want to reply to this properly but there is not enough space in this comment!

also florida kind of sucks in general

  • there are so many regional differences in America, if you go to the west, you'd have a far different experience than if you went to the east, so it depends on what type of American experience you would like to have :) but personally my favorite place is Portland, Oregon. i wish i lived there...

  • I'm from Marine City, Michigan! You should google maps it! I can see Canada from across the river. Its actually super nice. I think that the stereotypical view of America is really sugar coated. I live in the north, so I struggle everyday with those cold mornings and hauling my butt to my community college that's like 40 minutes away!

As far as England lifestyle...I picture it cold. Working men going to factories (sad story) and crowded city streets. haha!

  • Well, California is an excellent place to start, you can experience two rather different regions, northern California and southern California. The weather is generally dry and pleasant in southern California, except it gets a bit chilly sometimes at night. The Los Angeles region is generally the place to go, almost all of the attractions, beaches, shopping, art, music, etc. is compiled there. If you want a look at suburban life, look at Cerritos and Lakewood.

  • *I meant "are" in the second to last sentence.

  • Ah, as far as my view of the English lifestyle I feel like you guys would take lots of streetcars and trains! And live in super traditional houses. I've heard it rains aaaaall the time there and that it's windy and cold so...I imagine you would wear lots of thick coats? Lastly, in my mind you guys eat a lot of meat and stews. (Don't ask me why I think that, I have no clue.) I know it's not correct but that's what comes to mind when I think of a typical day there, aha. xD

  • I live in mid-Virginia and it's pretty warm here. We get from 30's-100+ temps. (30's are k.i.l.l.e.r.) I live on the water so we can get a bit of wind at times but other than that it's super nice. The whole front of my house facing the ocean is glass so it's almost always bright. In any beachy area you'll find brightly colored houses though. Mine happens to be pink! You should try Virginia Beach, Virginia. It's just the right amount of touristy meets reality. Come during the spring/summer!

  • Most Australians ride kangaroos to work and only eat food cooked on barbecues. We eat Vegemite not because we like it but because the smell of it on your breath keeps funnel-web spiders from biting you when you're asleep. As for the Poms, we know that you don't like bathing, moonlight causes your skin to burn and you have un-natural relations with crumpets.

  • Sorry Charlie. Can't really help you out because I'm not American. But in Canada we ride our polar bears everywhere, and don't talk about Arctic cold until you live in an igloo. Eh? Oh and I am pretty sure that in England you have tea and crumpets everyday with the queen.

  • Washington State. If I were bump into you I'd die. x__x

If you'd like I could make a video in the next few days, of what life is really like. And what I'd presume life like for people from England and such.

  • @dardarbinx07 That would be great! I'd really like to see what life is like in Washington. And your thoughts on what life in England is like would be interesting to hear!

  • -That's not how it is in America... haha It's been enhanced in those movies you've seen.

-It's pretty cool though :D You should come

-Idrk actually, I've never really thought about it.

Although, everyone thinks that my area is full of "Hicks", which it isn't.

    *Hug*

  • I think there's a huge stereotyped view of Australia - one where we have pet kangaroos and go to the beach daily. I'm from Melbourne in the south of Australia and it's bloody freezing for half of the year here, and our way of life is immensely different to someone living in central Australia. But I think it's the same for both the UK and America, it varies depending on where you are.

  • @1537ohno Definitely - I think region varies lifestyle in every country! I've always wanted to go to Australia. If I did, I'd like to go somewhere along the coast in nice weather. Go fishing and diving and everything!

  • @charliediprose You should come one day! Anywhere is nice weather in summer, except Tasmania (Australian joke), it just depends how hot you want to be :)

  • Not Ohio. Horrible weather. Oh and I don't care if it's a dry heat, it's heat to us Ohioans ! Lol

  • I live in the south western part of Virginia. The winters are pretty mild if you're looking for that xD but like about two winters ago, we got like 15 inches of snow, surprisingly. But it'll get pretty hot here, too. Yeah, I'd check out D.C. Lol. Even if you're not from this country. It's pretty cool. Or, NYC. My god. It looks so pretty there. I want to go someday. xD

  • You really should come back to America some day, I think that would be a fun experience :) I also one day would love to go to England, so I could try something new, any suggestions on where to go? Lol :)

  • @monicaanicholee And if you fancy seeing the tourist attractions, I'd recommend London, of course. What you could do is stay in a town just outside of London and get the train in whenever you want to. I live in a nice little town called Marlow - it's quite scenic and traditional. Plus, the train into London from High Wycombe (next to Marlow) gets there in about 45 minutes. I guess it's worth just doing some research and seeing what you like the look of!

  • Hey Charlie! It's nice to see a video from you :) I personally live in California, and yes there are "touristy" places here such as Los Angeles, which I live about 2 hours away from, but as a whole I think California is a great place to live. I was born and raised here and have lived in various different parts and have liked it. The city I live in is a bit of a small town, It's quite modern though, meaning it's not all in the middle of no where but it's not a crazy busy town. (cont.)

  • @monicaanicholee I'd love to go to California! If I did, I think I'd try the tourist side of things in Los Angeles but I'd also like to give the other places a go. I want to experience some of the every day lifestyles from the people who live in places like the town you said you live in!

  • Charlie! (Frankie here) Florida isn't all about all that touristy crap, i assure you, i woudn't have spent 6 weeks there during summer if it was. It's beautiful and relaxed if you try and avoid that central part where Universal and Disney.

  • @FranSaysYeah I'd like to give Florida another go, to be honest. As you said, I only really went to the touristy bits so I'd like to experience the other side of it!

  • You should go to Delaware. It's has milder winter weather usually. tourists only go to the beachs, and it's pretty close to lots of cool places like. D.C. and New York and Philadelphia.

  • Is the video working for anyone else?

  • awwh just missed first comment! :)

  • First comment. Yey. Now to watch the video.
