  • Nice. It's a shame the ones today have GE Bells. It takes some of the heritage away. Great video, I love the set.

  • Rich I love this locomotive! I am seriously thinking about buying this. I have seen it in real life before and it is gorgious. Would you recomend it? By the way, I dont know if you have seen my recent video but I am making good progress on my layout. It was inspired by your black diamond railway DVD 1 and 2. Awesome stuff. I love your vids!

  • @JDStucks Nevermind, I forgot... they are impossible to buy anymore :(

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • great photography

  • what gen of proto sound is that?

  • The audio is an overlay of a real engine if thats why your asking. Otherwise, it protosound 2.0. Some of the scenes are a mix of protosounds and real engine sounds

  • the DCC sounded like a F59PHI

  • Man You have one kick A** Layout!!!!

  • Awesome layout, awesome engines and everything! MTH has done it again! Making of an excellent prototype for us to play with! Now if they would make a set in G-scale...

  • Sure they do. These exact engines are in existence today hauling around the Norfolk Southern executives in their OCS train. Checkout railpictures website for photos. Use keyword 4270.

  • hes right the be units are F7's the A units are A Units

  • The A units are F9's, and the B units are F7's!!!

  • LOL ! Rich,"You must a hit`em pretty hard to get a comment like that"! "You go man" TOM :)

  • That was Ultra Realistic and Beautiful. Love the Camera Angles making it look like a real train!!!!

  • Wow. Beautiful ABBA lash-up, sight and sound. How many units are powered w/sound? Great Layout, loved the bridge. Your camera work complimented both the trains and the layout. The low angles and smooth panning made feel I was there (and 1/48 in size). Did you use a tripod w/wheels or did you hand hold when moving with the engines? My only criticism is that I wish the video was longer! Keep up the good work.

  • Thanks. The A units are powered, and only one has sound. Much of the sound is overlayed from real engine sounds. Use a tripod on part of it, had held on another. This was just a quick production. Check out my other clip, its longer, and my website. The video I sell on my site is 73 minutes, half train action and half construction techniques, in high quality widescreen. Thanks for watching. Rich.

  • Nice video. I saw the actual locomotives when they were here in Meridian Mississippi, where I live, when they had the Railfest at the train depot, which I thouoght was cool Also, is your train an HO scale train, it looked like it to me.

  • Thanks. I'd like to know where these real engines are myself so I can video them. I'm close enough to Altoona PA where they get serviced, but don't know when they are there. To answer your question, these are O-scale or engines not HO. Rich.

  • Fantastic!!! Thanks for posting as I have been wanting to see these units in action.

  • Make that 2 Tom`s!! Great as always Rich! "Jerky"? Your stuff jerking is better than other peoples best" Tom Z. :)

  • Thanks Tom. For some reason, this video is jerky. I uploaded a higher resolution version, but it didn't get much better, so I'm keeping this one for now. My website has the same *.wmv file available, and it runs smooth without studdering. I put the F-7 under the post war diesel section on my site. I wasn't sure where to put it since its a "modern" "post war" diesel :)

  • Nicejob Rich.
