I haven't read up on why this man's wife wants to separate froIf m him. What could be the reasons valid enough to divorce someone who's needs are met everyday? Is he/she chemically unbalanced or something? Help me to understand that.
This song is one of my favorites of his and the tempo is incredible for some reason. Almost trancelike for me. All his CD's are terrific but this one is his best.
@RnBabySonya, i agree and Seal said that he liked this song and it was the best track of the album "Seal II" released in 1994. i still remember i read the music magazine in 1994.
I'd have trouble deciding on which Seal tune I like best, but this is right up there at the top. The funky tempo, the guitar and piano intertwining, all very polished. I'd imagine thanks in part to Trevor Horne are in order.
Arguably my favourite Seal song ever. This whole album I agree is just totally mesmorising and the work of pure intellectual and spiritual genius, the likes of whom are just all too rare in this world. Heidi Klum is a lucky person.
There is no escaping the absolute beauty of this whole cd. We can all relate to what this music and lyrics speak. I for one believe it to be the the single greatest complete pieces of work EVER. Front to back hands down the finest, pure and dynamic statements. This cd is what all other works will be measred by A MASTERPIECE
Sometimes you just can't say how a song makes you feel cause it's a feeling you can't put into words. But yea, this song makes your heart think the best for the other people in your life...and everybody wins.
@Mikowrites I played this song while driving going to see my girlfriend, i got lost in the melody and ended up hitting a few people along the way.....well...Seal will do that to you....heh.
One Japanese commentator described “Close the eyes and we will see the scene of the cyber city where dawns.” I agree with him. Seal said liked this song released in 1994 and I've remembered that he'd mentioned that lyrics had less meaning than the melody. uh,, beautiful song!!
@dimwit80 It's a 7/4 (a 4/4 + 3/4) throughout the song. It's a true rarity in pop music. That gives the song a different "flavour". Only "too square" people can't accept this tempo (and maybe they don't like "Take five" by Dave Brubeck too).
Don't tell them that "Kiss from a Rose" is in 3/4, or they could be upset by such discovery ;-)
@OrbiliusMagister Wow, I love Take five, too! I don't know much about music theory, but I know I haven't heard this beat much. Thanks for the tidbit of info!
@OrbiliusMagister you're so right :) Pink Floyd's Money is in 7/4 too but it doesn't groove the same way. I've learned to feel the 7/4 by playing along to this tune on bass & guitar...15 years ago! Wow, i'm geeting old :(
Awesome album (like the 1st one & Human being imo)
@dimwit80 well said. ya it has like a dark but beautiful feel to it. kind of like being in a 5 million dollar beach house with all windows at night on a rainy day.
@dimwit80 I AM HIS BIGGEST FAN ....I LOVE IT ALL...I HOPE TO SEE HIM OR MEET HIM,THIS YEAR....THIS IS HARD..BUT I LOVE THIS SONG..SOOOO MUCH...THANK YOU FOR THE POST.....MUCH LOVE..LA
@dimwit80 if im not mistaken the tempo is a 7/8 time signature-u know how most songs are a 4 count-this one is seven which is why it seems so weird but it makes the song that much more awesome i think-was just remarking how it would make an interesting dance piece
@AthenA2ptO You're correct that the time sig is 7/8, but tempo and time signature are two different things. An example of tempo would be 140 beats per minute (bpm), but idk what the specific tempo in this song is.
@dimwit80 idk if anyone's said anything, but that's not the tempo, it's the time signature. and for anyone who's curious, the time sig. in this is 7/8 :]
@noisyneil Funny, I came here looking for an example of 7/4 and that's what everyone is commenting about. I thought it would be awkward but it sounds great.
If you dream in métaphore, then what you dream is then real thing.

DANNIE1963 1 year ago
@DANNIE1963 You need to listen to a great rock band call Tool 7/8 timing is their stock in trade.
Anyway 1991 has to go down as probably the most amazing year in music. So many good artists got their breaks or did their best work in that year.
