Hips through, catch underneath don't sit down with the bar. Your knees come a little too far forward on the jerk you only want them to go even with the toes
The jerk doesn't look too bad but in the clean, the bar is way too far away from you. keep the bar closer to your body. Also, you don't full extend your hips to get the bar to fly up. You're basically pulling it up w/your arms and you don't want to do that.
If you haven't already I would get yourself a coach... a USOW coach ASAP. You're gonna fuck yaself up technique wise and injury wise if you carry on like that. If you were in UK I would take you on... cos I would make a fortune! :P
@ThePureOctane This video definitely suggests you have great strength and power potential, just learn and practice the correct movements to start shifting some serious weight!
@ThePureOctane its great so start weightlifting , its the ultimate training , really ,for any sport , but the hip thrust is essential and you cannot let the bar go away in front of the body, must keep the bar very close at all times .
watch all coach mike burgener 's teaching videos and it will be difficult but wou will get it , it takes time , like 6 months to do a perfect snatch , but its worth it .
Too put it bluntly, your form is very poor. If you want to utulize olympic lifting in your training i suggest you do it right and get a coach to teach you proper form first (a weightlifting coach who teaches competitive lifters, they know best) If you don't want to do that i suggest you spend your time on other forms of training like plyometrics instead of weightlifting. Basically, do it right or dont do it at all
3 I cannot see your ellbows but I think they should be pointed farther to the front and outside. I could be wrong on that, another camera angle would help to judge that.
That video might be 18 months old but maybe you can still use this:
1 For sprinting I would not do full cleans (at least not in speed strength sessions) but power cleans instead or maybe muscle snatches. For your quads you could do fast front squats then.
2 If you keep the bar closer to the body and then slightly touch your thighs with it in the second pull you will have an improved balance. Thus you can concentrate more on producing speed, speed and more speed.
Oh boy. Look at where the bar is at 0:18, bout a foot away from your body. That's real bad. And for some reason you do a front squat after you catch it. If you can catch it as high as you do then there's no reason to front squat it afterward.
