I like how they open this with song with a very bleak looking London. They picture London of what it used to be with it's dark atmosphere (A typical Tim Button setting) making it Earth's scum of the world back in history.

It sets the tone of depression and revenge, which is what the movie pulled off well.

This movie, was a great choice of a movie to make. I love the original musical, and this isn't a complete rip off. Although the wording and songs are the same the actors is what really makes it different. They are both amazing to watch so, if you haven't seen the original I recommend it.

The gore isn't much, don't worry-- just some quick slicing and a few dramatic scenes. What really gets you is the great emotion and wondrous beauty with which the film was created. It was absolutely amazing-- I was speechless after I watched it. I definitely wholeheartedly recommend it; it was more awesome than I ever dreamed it would be.
