But it is a bald-faced lie that no detainees were killed at Guantanamo. Yasser al-Zahrani, for example, was killed during torture in 2006 at Guantanamo.

@slimv29 kim il sung is not corrupt like kim jong il as far as i am aware though i may be wrong but he was definitely as paranoid. kim il sung was so oblivious to what was going on that when north korea went in a famine in the 1980's he took several years before he began taking the situation seriously. however the north korean famine that is happening now has not killed anywhere near as many as people claim. most stats are from the most severely effect province. i take the death toll at 300,000.

My source about Lenin's crimes is the Gulag Archipelago by historian and nobel laureate Alexander Solzhenitsyn (who was born and raised in the Soviet Union.) Of course Marx, Engels, Lenin and Stalin were very different people. Marx had some f**ed up ideas but he never killed anyone. Lenin on the other hand killed millions and Stalin killed tens of millions.

@Littleguidofan No prisoners have been killed or tortured at Guantanamo bay. If anything, they have better food and health care than average American citizens do.
Labeling of blacks and Arabs as potential terrorists was a natural reaction after 9/11. In spite of it though, there has not been pogroms or riots against them in the US, as would have certainly happened in other nations.
Yes, American prison guards did have some fun with prisoners. Did they kill them? No.

So guards do not kill prisoners in DPRK. There is death penalty for treason though, used rarely but it is the same as in some states

North Korea is not a "terrible country". the Korean Workers' party is a terrible party, Kim Jong Il is a terrible, EVIL tyrant. but the country never chose to become communist. communism was imposed on korea by soviet imperialists. and North Korea's "sovereignty" is a myth. Kim Il Sung's first public appearance was at a *Soviet* army parade. he turned his country into a neo-colony completely dependant on the USSR and China.

If not, are you implying that because a people do not choose its government it means it country is not a soverign state? If that is so then no country in the world is soverign by your definition. The point however is that total independence was impossible given the state of the world in the 50's. Any nation rejecting influence would be toppled.

@slimv29 kim il sung is not corrupt like kim jong il as far as i am aware though i may be wrong but he was definitely as paranoid. kim il sung was so oblivious to what was going on that when north korea went in a famine in the 1980's he took several years before he began taking the situation seriously. however the north korean famine that is happening now has not killed anywhere near as many as people claim. most stats are from the most severely effect province. i take the death toll at 300,000.
