  • Reminds me of Spongebob, not gunna lie!

  • I've recently started watching some Hawaiian slide videos. I see a lot of them, including this one, playing natural harmonics with a slide. How on earth do you do that? Doesn't make sense to me.

  • @1SapereAude1

    magic still exists....:-)

google : how to play natural and artificial harmonics on a guitar

  • @daddystovepipe

I know how to play harmonics. Done it a million times. But natural harmonics WITH A SLIDE I don't get.

  • @1SapereAude1

oh, nvm. You can play natural harmonics by using two fingers of your right hand of course. Haven't done it before, so it didn't occur to me.

  • @1SapereAude1 Look at Youtube video "Learn To Play Traditional Hawaiian Guitar By Bob Brozman." He shows a little trick with harmonics when playing lap slide. When you bridge the slide steel against the strings you can make harmonics 12 frets up or in the middle of the string area. Thats the sweet spot, but you can find harmonics on other areas.

  • sooo good reminds me of cowboy bebop aka awesome tunes man keep up the great work

  • nice good video

  • This open G as you call it, is DGDGBD, or GBDGBD?

  • @caralhosvosfodam

Hawaiian music and blues is usually played in low bass open G (DGDGBD)

High bass open G (GBDGBD) is strictly for bluegrass.

  • @daddystovepipe Ok, sir, thank you, I asked that I'm trying since morning to pull of a similar playing on my guitar in roundneck style, and it doesn't sound quite the same so I thought you could be using high bass open G...

    regards.

  • these are two guitars

  • makes me feel like selling mine-great stuff.

  • che cagata

  • @TheMatt0789 giusto da un italiano poteva venire un commento così inutile...!!!

  • Great work, and lovely Instrument !

    Thank you

  • Wow great playing! Very nice Weissenborn too and the song is of course fantastic!! *****

  • Wondeful! I also like the look and sound of the weissenborns.

A mellower tone than the resonator dobros. The fact that the neck is hollow adds to the sound I think?

  • Sweet sounds Daddyo,Sam Ku West was a sublime player.I've got to get one of those geet-tars.

  • Very nice, Kinda sounds like a country blues.

  • Really, really nice. Have you done any other polynesian stuff? There is some interesting Maori fingering techniques but I personally do not know- have just heard a bit being in New Zealand. Thanks!

  • The recording sounds pretty good ,too !!!

  • It's really great way , you've done that job. Really love it ! Thank you .

  • love this instrument, love and play it too, amitiés Thibault
