  • This horn was dedicated to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Anyone who is still sane would agree that this horn, no matter how expensive, was not equivalent to the cost of life that Katrina caused, but hell it was a start. And it was much more then you can ever do. So STOP HATING!

  • @vietrumpet123 Call the Waambulance.

A trumpet's sheet bracing is not supposed to be able to slice bread. His regular horns are beautiful, but his ruby encrusted, graffiti-laced presentation horns are, for lack of a better term "faggy".

Some of are just purists. I look at this horn, and I feel like someone raped it.

  • that is the single best looking trumpet i've ever seen =D i wonder what the depth and bore of the mouthpiece is.

  • A trumpet worthy of the great player blowing it!

  • there's a video somewhere of irvan mayfield saying he wants the horn to be insured for $1,000,000 but i'm sure we would agree that it's priceless.

  • Amazing trumpet! Dave's horns are amazing. You people that trash talk need to get a life :)

  • irvin mayfield is fuckin dumb

  • Perfect follow instrument for a SERIOUS DISASTER like KATRINA. yeah lets make a horn so only the incredibly rich can enjoy it, just like the aftermath.

  • Only the incredibly rich can enjoy listening to that horn? what are you talking about?

  • The incredibly rich are not the only ones to enjoy this. I just saw Irvin Mayfield in concert for FREE playing this trumpet. The concert was two hours long and he stuck around to visit and sign autographs afterwards. The trumpet has great meaning for him and any money donated at the concerts goes to Hurricane Katrina relief.

  • try about 45,000!!!

  • Actually, on a recent 'Miami Ink' episode, Ami James said "his quarter million dollar trumpet." Irvin says "It took 15 months, 20 people, all by hand to build this trumpet." It has rubies, and many rare diamonds that are not even mined in Africa anymore.

    So, $250,000 i guess...

  • The horn is insured for $1 million, so it is worth more than that.

  • it's not more than 1 million dollars mabey 20 thousand

  • It is insured for 1.2 million. It was given to him so there was no price. He insured it for that much. You insure anything for any amount.

  • The horn is insured for $1 million, so it is worth more than that.

  • Haters begonneee!

I saw that guy and the whole orchestra LIVE, okay, and they ROCK!

  • wow how much does that trumpet cost?????

    5000 dollars at least.

  • 1.2 Million. I've got one of his most basic horns, and that costs about $5k.

  • 1.2 Million?

last price quote I heard for one was about $30,000-$35,000

  • His AJNA II line runs around that area. This is a presentation horn that takes about 1000-1500 man-hours to complete, plus Tami Dean does all the engraving of the pictures and things on the presentation horns. Even Wynton's presentation horn is estimated at about 200-300k.

  • Man, if you're right then the prices have gone up like crazy. I know all about the process that it takes to make one of the presentation instruments. I'm pretty familiar with Monette horns but apparently I haven't checked the prices in a while haha

  • No kidding...I had a 149XL but sold it recently...I want the Prana 1 or 3, but even that one in raw brass is almost 10k. It's pretty insane. I got to play a friend's Prana 1 C, and it was ridiculous.

  • Wow,, that guy sucks!!

  • Amen!

  • too bad the player is not as good as the horn

  • Can you hear?

  • boo...you dont know shit

  • suban los otros videos de la monnette

  • Wow, that's some trumpet and so fitting for the special occasion.

  • What an amazing work of art. true craftsmanship. A BEAUTIFUL Trumpet

  • Amazing!
