they are cool,, would love to have one,,8k,,, HAH! forget that bullshit. I mean it is a toy size toy robot that cannot do anything more than a toy. make somthing that can do shit for me and i might pay 8k lol. Fucking greedy fucks.
@dkoribag1 8-12K for an open platform, completely configurable bot that's 'toy' sized. Well, compare to an adult size robot that's 250+K and I think it's a pretty good deal.
@xycadium speak for your self. Your greedy fucks who have no real principles of life if you make it harder for humans to advance into the future of science technologies. I mean dont you think we already have a slim chance of preventing our own extinctsion anyways? Why would you want to contribute to the security of extinctsion by makeing it harder for the world to progress and impliment the new science technologies into everyday life? o wait i know,,
@dkoribag1 Unfortunately, the cost of these robots is what they are. There's cheap servos then there's high quality, very expensive servos that look the same on the outside but aren't the same. Sadly, they cost a lot now. I don't make enough and never will make enough to own a bot that cost more than a few hundred dollars (and struggle with that price) but I hope that someday bots like this will be affordable for us normal, regular low paying job type people. Maybe when I'm 65 or so.
@xycadium I feel your pain man. If your like me, you demand the latest technologies within your products everywhere you shop and walk out if they cannot supply you. I got money to spend,, but im not going to get ripped off like alot of other dumb fuckers in this world. I demand affordable quality within science technologies and will only contribute to the companys that are customer obsessed. Amazon.com is awesome. If there is a company that can bring the price down its them for sure.
@xycadium to maximize your profit and have a better life than other humans. Personally i have a good life that i worked hard for but i try everyday to make sure people know about these things you greedy fucks build. People like me are the reason greedy fucks like yourself can even do what you do. Better wake up and get your priorities of life purpose right. Re asses your purpose of life if ya know what i mean. Dumb fucking parasites.
12,000 dollars, it's expensive, it does compete with NAO, but NAO is still the better sorta version, with a price tag of 17.000$ Dollars, phew. People doing robotic research have some real mula to burn through.
I don't know what it is about watching it kick the ball that made me laugh so hard. I guess it might have been how funny it walked or the faceplant afterward lmao.
@fairguynova This was an impromptu video taken in front of the booth display on the plush carpet. Most bipedal robots of this class cannot even walk on such plush carpets as seen that day (including the Nao) OP was the only robot able to walk around in that environment. Performance videos are planned to be posted on /romelavt in a few weeks.
@RoMeLaVT Though OP's performance is truly exceptional, Nao is a great platform for HRI work and looks really nice with fluid life like motions, I have to say...
Sold. When they are ready to ship i want one. Just to let those guys know, i plan to use all of their collective hard work to achieve some pretty pointless things, like... chase the cat.....
I like it. But it doesn't have hands.

DARwIn-OP can run with a flight phase with both feet off the ground.

Does not look like it "runs" any better than Nao can.
