That's amazing....no screaming? no episiotomy? nothing? what about all the nightmare stories people tell about giving birth? You gave a great example that it doenst have to be like that. Thank you :)
(although I think that I wouldnt have let the bigger boy watch it)
This is really amazing!! Wow! I wish i did it like you. I was screaming almost the whole time.hihi Greetings from Selma.. Ps we have exactly the same hair color XD
Whether a baby is doing good in the early parts of having been born are based on color, and reflex, not necessarily how much noise they make. If the umbilical cord is still pulsing then the baby doesn't need to cry much because it's still getting most of it's oxygen from the placenta.
Wonderful to see, thank you! But weren´t you a bit worried when tha baby didn´t scream for "all that time"...? Or did you see he was doing good even without any sounds?
@FruUdda Not at all. He was quiet and alert and clearly doing ok. He was also still receiving oxygen through his umbilical cord while he adjusted to breathing on his own. Babies don't need to scream on and on when they are born. :)
@muirichinnahali Thanks for your answer. I know babies doesn´t have to scream "on and on", but some little mini sound I thought you wanted to hear. But (what didn´t show in my question), I guess YOU saw his well being a lot better then the camera did. =)
@FruUdda Sorry! I just find it kind of funny when I hear (fairly frequently) that babies "need to scream" when they're born. In nearly all of the births I've attended - mostly babies born gently at home and often in the water - all of the babies were alert and quiet with very little noise after being born. And all have been perfectly healthy. I think in many ways our birth culture has become so disconnected from what "normal" looks like in a natural birth without interference. You know? :)
wonderful video. thanks so much for sharing this precious moment! i love the photos at the beginning (you and your big boy with your ginger heads! so cute!) and your beach belly photos were absolutely gorgeous! such a peaceful, beautiful way to welcome a new life into the world...breathtaking. i can see by the birth date that i'm really late, but congratulations and happy almost 2nd birthday to little nicolas!
That was an awesome video. It's videos like these that make me think...you know maybe I should have a kid. But...maybe not. Complete respect to all the mothers out there. You ladies are the strongest ever.
I love you you enjoyed this with his little brother.... HE'S GOING TO BE THE BEST BIG BROTHER!!! You are such a beautiful family!!! hugs and smiles and congrats.. when is the next one!! :-)
