So, the best version of this song that I can find on YouTube is by The Estonian Men's Choir?!?!?!?? How would Estonia like to be the 51st state?! Thanks for posting this.
This is a truly "Visionary" song...the vision which America could be, someday. It must not be confused with the reality. The gap is wide. And, until it is closed, the song provides inspiration and reminders of what it is all supposed to be about. Never, ever confuse this with a description of "the way things are."
I recommend the film/documentary "The Singing Revolution" which is about how Estonians kept their music through the continued takeovers of their homeland. They, unlike most, have real reason to sing about nationalism. They have survived.
As the grand-daughter of wretchedly poor immigrants and the aging child of Greatest Genere\ation parents, I inherited a bunch of patriotism...and these songs fill my eyes with tears and my heart with endless gratitude. Thanks so very much.
See this is what i truly love :) when a crowd can manage to sing along and have the motivation to make it sound good XD i love how the women damn near overpowered the men XDDDD yaya for mass soprano's ^_^
This performance by the Estonian Male Chorus took place in Louisville, KY, at the ACDA National Convention in 1989, just months before the Berlin wall fell. Tim Sharp

How wonderful! The way this great hymn should be sung - and how seldom we hear it sung like this anymore. Thank you so much for posting it.
