Hello! I realize this video is now at least 2+ years old, but I think you would still be able to help me out! I just bought a Polaroid Spectra 2 and the instructions say to use only Polaroid Spectra Color film, which isn't made anymore. Would you happen to know of any reliable film (either from the Impossible site or otherwise) that can still be and should be used in these little beauties? I'd appreciate any help at all. Thanks, man! :)
@EpicureanFilms I've been using polaroid image softone from the impossible project. It's technically polaroid film, its just expired, and from what I've experienced with it it hasn't let me down, the color and image quality is great. With any other website that sells expired film would be taking a gamble in my opinion and overly priced. Impossible projects has had some great deals where they sell 6 packs of spectra film for 30 dollars. hope this helped =]
@theolivetree95 I sure did! I scoured the website (I even emailed an employee there to triple check, lol). My film arrived a few days ago, Though I'm at college right now, I'll be going home soon to test that those pictures out! :D
@meanseoz the best place I would recommend is the impossible projects website. I put the link to the online store on the more info. right now there is free shipping countdown =]
thanks so much for posting this, its the first link I clicked on, I just got myself one of these vintage beauties from an online auction, and ordered some film from the Impossible Project, so as for charging the camera, does it charge when you put the film in only? sorry if the question seems dumb, but I only just discovered the art of Polaroid film, and this is my first Polaroid camera ever, I just hope mine works..and excitedly waiting for the film to arrive...
@wickandde you don't really need to charge the camera. once you put the film inside it will be running on the battery that is in the film. from there you are all set to go and ready to take pictures
Hey so, where is the best place to buy the film because I just bought this camera and I don't know? is the impossable project film good? thanks, it'd be great if you'd reply
@1smalltownGLEEK It may be good to some and bad to others. TIP is still in experimentation phase and may yield different results. I bought 2 box and i like it in the first place. The downside is that the film doesnt last long and only have 8 exposure instead of 10. You can still keep the film to last longer by using methods from their website but it doesnt work for me. All my images are turning blue. Either way, have fun with it. Im gonna wait till they found a permanent way to fix that.
To some this video would seem stupid or dumb... But believe me, if you found this camera at the thrift store and did not know what the film looked like; you would say this video is worth a million dollars... thanks..
@skaisdead33the-impossible-project has many choices for film including spectra film at affordable prices. Ima start buying from the Impossible Project because the shop I used to buy film at has run out =[
Is that really how the Camera is powered? Because my Spectra System still has film, but doesn't work. I bought it from a Salvation Army hoping I could just install new batteries. But I don't quite know how to.
well it's highly advised not to take out the film out from the cartridge seeing that that would damage the film, making it useless. If you would really like to do this though, use the new film until all 10 polaroids have been taken. And then make a dark room (pitch black) and add the film from the old cartridge to the new one, seeing that that cartridge still has plenty of battery in it. You have to make sure not to damage the the old film by exposing it with light. hope this helps.

skaisdead33 1 year ago

if you take out the black thing is all the film ruined?
Gramofluff 1 year ago
@Gramofluff technically just the top picture, because it would be exposed to light, the rest at the bottom might be okay

@Morahman7vnNo2 yeah thats how most cameras are powered. eventually the battery on the film pack drains.

Would getting new film recharge it enough so that I could use film from both old and new film cartridge?

Well, I already tool out the film,
but it already looked it exposed to
light, I guess my best hope is that
the rest of the film is still good to use.
Thanks again.
