Why is it that with my tuned corrvette Z06 I am running 2:01:89's and I'm not passing as many cars.? This is frustrating the he'll outta me, can someone help?
@starksy17 if your still having trouble with it, sometimes instead of slowing down it's easier just to slow a little bit, slam into the side of the car in front of you, and right as you hit, punch the accelerator. if you do it right it works. other times come along side the car you want to pass and push them into an obsticale, and they will have to back up to keep going; i am only lv 17 though.... =/

@rsx123 Traction control is off, I stated I use standard physics, and you see the racing line because I turned it on for the benfit of the viewer when I recorded the replay to video. Therefore you don't know if I had it on when I ran the race. Who's a tool?
@renesisrx8 theres a technique to driving this car, as well as, to some extent, the tuned viper and tuned Z06...and it's all in the throttle control. you have to drive it fast to keep the downforce up in the turns so that you are able to push the throttle...without speed theres no downforce, and without the downforce you can't turn hard enough or apply enough acceleration.. also, never EVER go from full throttle to no throttle (or brakes for that matter) unless you are in a straight line..

What kind of tuning did you have on the ferrari california? I have tried hundreds of times with the Mines R34 Amuse S2000 Ford GT Test car. I can't get any better then 12 if I'm lucky. I don't now what the hell I'm doing. It's pretty clear to me that I just don't know how to drive. Maybe I should just use a regular PS3 controller instead of my G25 but that's no fun.

s-10 is beatable everytime,i use ferrari california no aids,max hp no extra weight and i feel like i cant lose even if i try,i was in 1st place right at the end of lap 3,averaging 1:59-2:00 per lap.yes the california can do those lap times with the right tuning!!
They made this race a lot harder in the Spec III update. You need near perfect laps.
A 2:04 lap on the updated game would put you around a second further behind the lead car, even if you gained several places. You need to be hitting under 2:00 after the first lap to win.
it's not nice driving when he's that slow. I'm guessing he's either playing arcade and setting ai difficulty lower or that's just spec II where it's much easier
I just bought the GForce steering wheel and waiting for my logitech wheel pro stand. Standard physics sucks. I mean i have seen people freakin drifting tghrough the corners which does not make any sense as in real life you can't drift through a U corner with so much of speed. I tried professional with steering Mild and with TCS off my car cannot be handled.
Man how in the world can you drive that car in professional ? I mean could you plz tell me your setup if you don't mind ?. Whats the setting for TCS and ABS and STM ?
Exactly ihave not driven anything else in real life other than a Protege so i really don't have a freakin clue inhow to drive with TCS off. I just wish Polyphony could have added the TCS just like Forza. Just a thought.

i just did both s-7 and s-10 with the honda s2000 racing car and i did it with the lowest wright possible....even with the least horsepower and then put the wing up as high as it could go and got 2nd and 3rd first time on each of the races....i'm just saving up for the f1 car and i just have to beat the f40 challenge and then it's unlocked to buy

You say that the specs does not matter, well if it doesn't then inst it common sense that a car 5 feet off the ground will go slower than a car 3 inches off the ground? You telling us your specs you used would help me, and a lot of other people greatly. When people are struggling,, like myself, every bit helps, specs is perhaps the second most important factor. Please fill in the gap, #2!

Thank you very much man, i just passed the race, i think the secret to pass the race ( what i did) is to not care about the hp and just put all the aerodynamics, lower all the weight and a lower all the hp so the performane point's fit (i have the unupdated version)
Its nothing about settings, sure they help but... The biggest diffrence lies with the skills of the driver. Just keep practicing I guess, thats how I beat the other races and well, its about being quick at the start too, if you wait too long, the head group will pull away and it will indeed be hard to catch up.
I got to place 5 so far, all mistakes by me... I've got these settings:
Just CANNOT beat it, and it is the only lap left from S. Tryed every car but the s2000 / tuned and corvette / tuned. But cannot win. Starting agains the old 60`car and two vipers. easy to cath the first old car but then when i have taken the viper the other's are far far away....don't think can manage any better than 10`th.......
how the hell did u manage this? was this spec III, i can get a 2.14 in the first lap (same as you) and a 2.04- 2.05 in lap2, and im never higher than 8th or 9th by then...
this track is doin my head in, hadnt played gt5 for months, then got a new telly..... and that changed everythin..
easy tips on cornering:
1. when the corner shows up brake
2. steer to the turn
3. and finally gas dont release the gas until next turn

When I play on simulation mode with all assists off, that car it spins out at the slightest hint of throttle.
